First Day of School - 2015

How can it be that the kiddos are starting a new school year?!?!  Enjoy the traditional "back to school" pictures that every Mom and Dad is obligated to take...

Reba Elizabeth - Kindergarten

Reba's teacher split the class in half - she was in the group that went today; the other half will go tomorrow and she will stay home.  Reba has 19 students in her class (6 girls, 13 boys).  Most of her class returned from Pre-K, plus they have two new faces.  It should be an exciting year! 

Dallas Matthew - 2nd Grade

Dallas' class is down one from student from last year; making 10 in his class now (4 boys, 6 girls).  He also has one of the three new teachers in the building!  The former 2nd grade teacher had her first baby at the end of last school year, and she decided over the summer to take time away from school to be a Mom :)  Dallas is most looking forward to taking his 1st Communion in the spring!

Do you have any idea how difficult it was to get all 3 looking and standing still at the same time?

Have I mentioned that I love our school and staff?!?!  The principal stands outside every morning to welcome the students with a smile and high five.  Today, she had balloons and snapped pictures to add to the school's Facebook page.

School Days 2014

Yesterday was Dallas' first day of 1st Grade!

He was kind enough to get his picture taken with his sisters

Dallas has 12 students in his class this year - 6 boys and 6 girls.  Two boys moved in, and one girl moved to public school.

And today, Reba had her first day of Pre-K!

She thought we needed a picture of her with her brother and sister.

Reba has 17 students in her class this year.  All 7 are returning from last year's preschool class, so she was excited to see her "old" friends.  She will go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this year.  Although, she would love to go all 5 days so she would be one of the "big kids" to help the "little kids".

I am super excited to report that there were no tears (from kiddos or parents) on either day!  Here's to a blessed and joyous school year.

Preschool 2013

That's right...Little Miss started preschool this morning!

She was able to see Daddy before he left for work, and was all excited about going to school and meeting new friends.

She let me know she was done with pictures by sticking her tongue out at me...

When we got to school, she was still doing great.  She talked to her teacher a little, and I gave her one last hug and said I would be back in a few hours.  That's when the tears started streaming down her little face.  And in a complete turn of events from yesterday, Momma didn't shed any tears!

Reba - crocodile tears; Momma - no tears...

I'm sure she was fine within minutes of me leaving, and I'm sure she will be full of stories when she comes home.

Kindergarten 2013

Dallas started Kindergarten this morning...

He was very excited!

...until Momma kept taking more and more pictures.

This week, Dallas goes to school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Next week, he will go every day.  The teacher splits the class in half for the first week (the other group goes on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), in order to help the students learn the new routine better.  She is able to give them more attention this way.  Dallas did excellent as he walked into his class, found his cubbie, and then found his seat.  Momma, on the other hand, cried her eyes out as I walked back to the van.  I'm blaming it on the pregnancy hormones.  I did not cry that much when I dropped him off for his first day of preschool or preK!

Last Day of PreK

Today was Dallas' last day of PreK.  Here is my big guy before heading off to school...

Dallas' 1st Day of Pre-K

Today, Dallas started a new school year.  This year he is in the Pre-K class (4 year olds), and I am proud to report that he did awesome when I dropped him off this morning!  We got a very nice rain shower this morning as well, so our first day picture had to be inside...

Last week the school hosted an open house so the kiddos could meet their teacher and see the classroom.  Dallas enjoyed showing Reba around the room.

We were glad to see they had the BEST team for the kiddos to pretend to be a part of

Pre-School!

Dallas started Pre-school today!  And, like every good mother, I got a picture of him on his 1st day of school!

Like the pop-tart in his hand?  We had to get up extra early this morning because the kiddos and I had to take Doug to work before going to school.  We are currently a vehicle short, but hope that ends this evening. 

After dropping Daddy off at work, I had about an hour to waste before Dallas had to be at school, so like every good mother, I took the kiddos to McDonald's!  What a way to start your school career, right?

I got this picture outside his classroom door when I dropped him off.

Thankfully, there were no tears from him as I left.  Reba is the one who cried!  I think she was mad she wasn't staying.  When I picked Dallas up, he still had dry eyes.  When I asked what he did today, his first reponse was that he sat on the "yellow carpet".  I have since gotten out of him that they read a Clifford story and he played on the playground.  We'll see what he has to tell Daddy when he gets home.
