Washing

We are planning on heading north for a sheep show this weekend, which means the lambs need to be washed!

Dallas was excellent help this evening - he did a lot of the blow drying!
I mentioned a while back about how it is amazing the difference taking some wool off does to the lamb, well check out the difference a bath makes!

In other news, Reba has been helping change Julianne's diapers lately.  She is getting quite good at it too.  Tonight, Dallas wanted to help (aka: show up his sister), so he changed Julianne while Doug and I were finishing up the sheep.  I thought it looked a little awkward, but didn't think much about it until I went to put her jammies on...
Yep, that's a diaper wedgie with a backwards diaper!  At least he tried...

Kiddos

We have been spending lots of time outside in the evenings, and Julianne has grown pretty fond of chillin in the chair.
With lots of time outside, means baths each night!

Bath Time Salon

I had Julianne in the bathtub by herself, so we had a little fun with her hair!

Bath Time

Doug and I have decided we wouldn't last long in a large hatchery operation.  We worry too much about the little ones causing us to check on them constantly.

For instance, we thought a couple of the chicks were taking too long to completely hatch out their shells, so we assisted them.  We found part of the problem was the humidity was not high enough, and the membranes of the eggs were drying causing the chick to get stuck.  (The low humidity might have been because we were constantly opening the incubator to look at them...)

Because the chicks were stuck, part of the egg shell and yolk sac were matted to their feathers.  We decided they needed baths in order for them to fluff up.

Luckily, we had a couple little people very willing to help bathe the babies!

More videos starring Julianne

I thought I would share a few new videos of Sugar.

She, like her siblings, loves the water.  Until the weather warms up and we can get the pool up, she'll have to get her fix with bath time.

Julianne loves peek-a-boo, and I think this was the ultimate game for her!

Tractor Photo Shoot

Dallas and Reba each had their picture taken sitting atop the Oliver at about 6 months old.  It only seemed appropriate that Miss Julianne get her own picture too.  Unfortunately, it took a little while longer to find the time to get the Ollie out of the barn and dusted off...so Julianne's photo shoot was at 7 months.

First up, the Oliver needed a bath.  Thankfully, Dallas was willing to man the hose.

Scrub-a-dub-dub...
Our third Oliver Beauty!
And for fun and games...

Show Prep

Next weekend is our first sheep show of the summer; therefore, I have spent the last few days preparing the sheep to enter the show ring!  It is amazing what a bath and a haircut trim will do for an individual.

This is Reba's ewe lamb, Rachael, after I first took the electric shears to her.
Rachael, after a bath and a quick fit
Next was Dallas' ewe lamb, Sparkler.  Again, after first taking the electric clippers to her
A bath and a trim later...
I forgot to take Buster's "before" picture, but here is his "after"

Fun Friday Fotos

Before we know it, this little lady is going to be "army crawling"
The kiddos really enjoyed the tulips outside the school a few weeks ago
These two can't get enough of each other
Splish, splash!
They always love to go for wagon rides
Julianne has started using the jump swing, and she LOVES it!
and, you know I love a good comparison...
Here's Dallas the first time in the jump swing
and here is Reba using the jump swing the first time
FYI: the kiddos are roughly the same age in the above photos - just shy of 5 months old

Bath Time

For the Oliver that is!  You might remember how dirty the Ollie got when I sprayed it with mud while trying to start it
Good thing Daddy had some good helpers!
Little Miss just loved playing in the water bucket
All cleaned up!  (yes, somehow the kiddos lost their pants in the process)

Wordless Wednesday - Bath Time

Not sure where the bruise came from - I found it when I poured the water over her hair!
After the kiddos get out of the bathtub, they HAVE to run around with their towels - Every. Single. Time.

Fun Friday Fotos

It was a rainy day here yesterday, so Dallas and I made a tent in the apartment.  The kiddos loved crawling under and through it.  It wasn't the best picture opportunities, but here are a few I was able to capture...

Then it was bath time...which always gets a lot of smiles.

Bubble Bath

I think this might have been one of Reba's first bubble baths!
They loved it when I would blow the bubbles into the air...

Fun Friday Fotos

Rub-a-dub-dub! Dallas and Reba's first bath together...

At first - Dallas: "Yea! Reba's here to splash too!"
A few minutes later - Dallas: "Hey?!? What's she doing in here?"
And, a little later - Dallas: "Reba, who?"

Un-Creative Title

I'm sorry I don't have anything cute to name this post. It is just some random pictures from the weekend and the beginning of our week. Enjoy!

Reba watching the Colts game with me on Sunday. (She was excited for the victory)Once Dallas saw Reba was getting her picture taken, he had to climb up and get in one as well.
Have you ever gotten lost in a good book? Well, we about lost Dallas in the pile of books!
Reba has gone from a pacifier girl to a thumb sucker!
Wide-eyed after bath time. I love how her hair is going every which way. I'm thankful she still has hair on top of her head because she has a major bald spot on the back of her head!
Until next time...

p.s. I hope the pictures aren't too blurring...I used a new method to downsize my pictures this time.
