This week was the second week for Reba to bring home her "Book in a Bag" homework. The bag contains beginning reader level books for the kiddos to practice their reading at home. Last week, the book was super simple for her (The only words were: The mouse can. The monkey can. {Repeat}). This week was a bit more of a challenge, but still pretty easy for her. Make sure your volume is turned up high, because she reads pretty softly.

Proud Parent Moment
Doug and I are busting at the seams today with pride.
Dallas' class was in charge of Mass this morning (students are chosen to do the readings, petitions, and bring up the gifts), and Dallas was chosen to read the petitions! Thankfully, Daddy was able to go into work a little late, so we were all able to attend church together. Enjoy, and share in this joyful experience with us!
Until next time...

Story Time with Reba
Sorry it is a little shaky at the beginning, but I just had to share.
Dallas had brought home this book from the library on a Wednesday, and I recorded this on the following Friday. Needless to say, Reba loves the story!

Book-It Pizza
Who remembers doing the Book-It program in elementary school? Yep, Doug and I have our hands in the air, too. Dallas' class started turning in their "reports" at the beginning of October. He has to complete 4 reports in the month in order to earn a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. We are pleased to announce that he met the goal; so last week, we headed out for pizza!
He was so proud of himself! He only ate one slice that night, but brought the rest home for left overs. Now, he can't wait to get started on this months goal!Until next time...

Dallas' Big Indiana Adventure ~ Part 2
Dallas made his way to Ma-maw and Pa-paw Robertson's house on July 23rd. He went to an Indianapolis Indians baseball game that night.
One day Dallas was able to help Ma-maw make her famous yeast rolls. He now loves to help in the kitchen!
Of course, he was able to get some valuable reading time in during the day.
I'm guessing that he was waiting on Pa-paw to get home in the big truck!
They spent many evenings at the Jackson County fair. Dallas loved all the tractor displays, the rabbit and chicken barns, and watching Aunt Lisa get the sheep ready for the show.

Dallas' Big Indiana Adventure ~ Part 1
Dallas left on July 13th for his big summer vacation in Indiana. He stayed at Gram and Pa Bergman's until July 23rd; I thought I would share some of the memories with you.
I have heard that the weather was pretty "warm" in Indiana during the month of July...in order to beat the heat, Dallas found the water hose a tub to fill!
It looks like Gram gave Dallas a few chores around the house.
"Please, no more pictures"
Gram, Pa, and Aunt Josie took Dallas to Renyolds Farm Equipment one afternoon. I think he enjoyed climbing on all the tractors!

Quiet Time
These little darlings are currently napping :)
Therefore, I'll do a quick blog post!
When Gram and Grandpa Bergman came this past weekend, they brought along a lot of goodies from Dallas' second cousin Aden. There were so many new things to chose from, but he took a quick liking to the horse (it even plays the theme from the Lone Ranger).
