Julianne - 7 months

Another month has gone by, and Julianne continues to light up our lives!  Although, now that she is mobile (army crawling), she tends to get into a few tight situations...
This little lady loves the water!  Whether it's in the swimming pool in her floaty or in the bath tub - she is splashing and laughing!
Julianne loves to watch and laugh at Dallas and Reba; especially when they sing and dance for her, or make funny faces and silly noises
Julianne has started playing with tractors. She likes to push them back and forth, and she will occasionally make noises (raspberries) while playing
Julianne can now hold herself up in a sitting position
as well as sit herself up from a laying position
Julianne got to take her first bath in Ma-maw's kitchen sink (it's a little more roomy than when Dallas took his)
Other happenings with Julianne:

  • No more swaddling at night time, but does get swaddled for naps
  • Has pretty much stopped spitting up!
  • Bottom front two teeth have popped through
  • Has been to her first sheep shows
  • Loves to pet the kittens and squeals with delight when seeing them
  • Weighs 17 lbs 3 oz
  • Wears 6-9 month clothes
  • Wears size 3 diapers
  • Eating puree baby food, rice cereal and oatmeal 2 times a day

Until next time...

Julianne - 6 months

6 months...

Half a year...

I still can't seem to figure out where time goes, and how fast my baby is changing!

This month, like all the previous ones, has been filled with new milestones and growth.
Julianne's 6 month stats:
Weight: 17 lbs 1 oz (67th percentile)
Height: 27.25 in (93rd percentile)
Head Circumference: 44 cm

This is a very rare occurrence for our little one - Falling asleep in the rocking chair.
She still needs loves to be swaddled in order to sleep.  Doug and I have mentioned on numerous occasions, we do not remember Dallas or Reba moving and wiggling as much as Miss Julianne does!

Julianne is ever so close to army crawling...
I know it is very difficult to see, but her bottom two front teeth finally popped through!!!
Julianne loves toys/books that make a crinkling sound.
We get tons of smiles from our little girl, but still not much laughing!
She cannot get enough of her toes!  She loves to hold on to them while eating and while getting her diaper changed.
Julianne hasn't tried too many foods yet.  She likes bananas and applesauce, and she will do rice cereal as well as oatmeal.

She is wearing size 3 diapers and size 6-9 month clothes.

Julianne is down to nursing every 4 hours.  It will be interesting to see how her schedule/sleeping changes now that I will not have to wake her up in order to get Dallas and Reba to school...

Finally, two of Julianne's newest tricks include:
tripod sitting
rocking on hands and knees

Last Day of Kindergarten

Look out world!  Dallas is now a 1st grader!!!  Yesterday was his last day of Kindergarten.  I can't believe how fast the school went...even with all the snow days this winter, we only had to extend the school calendar one day.
Big D's Last Day of Kindergarten
Height: 47 in
Weight: 50 lbs
Big D's First Day of Kindergarten
Height: 45 in
Weight: 46.5 lbs
Of course, our family changed dramatically this school year with the addition of Julianne.
Our kiddos at the start of the school year
Our kiddos at the end of the school year!
To celebrate the end of the year, the school had field day competitions in the morning (tug-o-war, three legged race, etc).  The PTO then sponsored a picnic lunch for the students and their families.  Daddy was able to slip away from work and attend!
Dallas and one of his best friends, Dylan.  Their other buddy, Ryan, wasn't at school that day.

Preschool Finale

Yesterday was Reba's last day of Preschool!  Momma had to take Dallas to a dentist appointment first thing in the morning, so Daddy got to take Reba to school for her last day.  She was super excited about that.
Little Miss' Last Day
Height: 39.5 in
Weight: 31 lbs
Little Miss' First Day
Height: 38.25 in
Weight: 30 lbs
Last night was also Reba's End-of-the-Year Program.  She was so excited about getting to sing songs and dance for everyone.

Julianne - 2 months

Way back on February 6th, our baby girl turned 2 months old!  I took her to the doctor for her check-up and first round of immunizations.  But first, look at how much she has changed in just a short month's time...

Our baby girl is now weighing in at 13 lbs 8.5 oz (70th percentile) and has grown 2.75 inches since birth.  That makes her "standing" tall at 23.75 inches (85th percentile).  Her brain is developing quite well too, as it has reached a circumference of 15.75 inches (84th percentile)!

Here is a list of what I can remember Julianne doing at the 2 month mark:
Sat in the Bumbo chair for the first time

Lots of smiles!
Wiggles constantly
Julianne is still swaddled at night because she wiggles so much that she hits herself and wakes up!
Sleeps from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. consistently
Starting to drool
Beginning to coo
Gave up the bedtime bottle because the bowel movements became more regular
Rolled from belly to back on two different days (2 times each day)

Still wearing size 1 diapers
Still wearing 0-3 month clothes

And, as I mentioned at the beginning of the post, Julianne got her first big round of immunizations.  She had one oral vaccine and 3 injections.  It seemed that she spit out about half of the oral vaccine, and she SCREAMED when she got the shots.  If you have been around her much, you know that she doesn't really cry much; therefore, I think that was the most noise I have heard come her little self!  By the time I got her dressed and walked to the check out station, Julianne was all smiles again.
She was then asleep before I pulled out of the parking lot, and she slept a good part of the day.  After she finished eating at 4 yesterday afternoon, she was quite grumpy, so I gave her a little Tylenol.  That helped a lot, and it gave Momma some extra cuddle time.
Until next time...

Julianne - 1 month

Julianne went for her one month check up on 20th of January.  She is definitely growing!

Here are her stats:
Weight: 10 lbs 8 oz (67th percentile)
Height: 22 inches (68th percentile)
Head Circumference: 36 cm (18th percentile)

Some things that Julianne was doing at one month include (but not limited to):
Beginning to smile
Wearing size 1 diapers
Wearing 0-3 month clothes (onesies are getting short, but pants are plenty long)
Rubbing bare spots in her hair
Rolled from belly to back two different days
Sleeping from 10 pm to 5 am consistently
During the day, Julianne will be awake for 45 min-1 hour and then sleep 1-2 hours
Nursing every 2.5 to 3 hours
Taking about 3 oz of pumped milk at bedtime to help with bowel movements
Been to the doctor once for fever and stuffy nose
Starting to spit up more often
Baby acne has shown up

That's all I can remember at this point.

Until next time...

Fun Friday Flick

I was finally able to get Reba to sit still long enough to answer some questions about her favorite things.  Enjoy the video!

Reba's 3rd Birthday Party

Wow!  I have been a terrible blogger lately.  I apologize.  Let me go back to Reba's birthday party and try to get caught up by the end of the week!

As you may remember, Reba celebrated her 3rd birthday on the 17th of November (the day after we rode the Polar Express to the North Pole!)  We had her party on the following Sunday.  As always, she is a very spoiled loved little girl.

We had a Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck party
Enjoying her cake and ice cream!
The party go-ers
Enjoying a few of the presents - new jammies, Snap-n-Style Minnie Mouse, and a vanity set
My "sleeping" birthday girl and Lucy in their new coordinating jammies
Reba also had her well-child check on Tuesday the 20th.  We are happy to report that we have a healthy, happy little girl!

Reba's 3 year old stats:
Height: 35.5 inches (9th percentile)
Weight: 29.8 lbs (40th percentile)

Reba's 2nd Birthday!

I took the kiddos out for lunch on Reba's birthday.  She chose McDonald's!
That night when Daddy got home, Reba got to open a present (Tinker Bell PJ's and a Princess look and find book)
Momma made a big ole chocolate chip cookie for dessert
add a little ice cream and it was pure delight!
Here's Reba modeling her jammies
On Sunday, we had a party to celebrate Reba turning 2...she sat with Aunt Josie for a little bit of time while opening gifts
The birthday girl loved her balloons
This little girl is well loved by her grandparents and aunts...just look at all those presents!
Here's a combination of some of Reba's favorite presents...new shoes, baby stroller, and earrings
Time for cake!
Happy Birthday to you!
Daddy took Reba this morning for her 2 year check-up.
Height: 2 foot 8 inches (5th percentile)
Weight: 24.4 lbs (39th percentile)
Head Circumference: 18.9 inches (72nd percentile)

Dr. Alex had Reba go to the lab for blood work to check her iron levels.  My little girl was super brave and strong.  She only let out a small whimper when the nurse stuck the needle in her arm; then she was just fine.  The nurse even commented that Reba did better than most adults!

Dr. Alex also wants Reba to come back in three months to check her height once again.  She went from the 32nd percentile at 18 months to the 5th now.

Dr. Alex had a list of basic skills that a 2 year old should be able to to do.  He likes to see the child be able to do about 75% of the skills - Reba could do 100%!
Skills included:
     Say 5 or more words
Name 2 or more body parts
     Eat table food
     Use a fork/spoon
     Run
     Walk backwards
Dr. Alex then asked questions from an advanced development skills test.  He said that he would like for her to be able to do 25-50% - Reba was able to do over 50%!
Those skills included:
     Say 50 or more words
Name more than 7 body parts
     Recognize people
People to understand her words more than 50% of the time
     Dress herself

Reba now has her front 8 teeth, her 4 first molars, and 3 out of her 4 canine teeth.  (The 4th is trying to break through)
Reba loves to play with her baby dolls, as well as tractors and trucks!
She can climb up and down stairs all by herself.
Reba loves to read books.
She loves to watch movies - especially Elmo's World and Ice Age
Reba loves to pretend to be on the phone, but not so much to be on the real phone with family.
She wants to do everything herself - "Me do myself" she always says
Reba loves her Dora the Explorer and Tinker Bell jammies.
She wants to do whatever big brother is doing.
Reba sleeps about 12 hours at night any roughly 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the afternoon.

I'm sure I'll think of more things to add later.

Until next time...
