Sand Art

Dallas and Reba each received a sand art kit for Valentine's Day from Gram and Pa.  Since it was cold out, we decided today was a good day to work on them.  Plus, Julianne was down for a nap, and Daddy was home to giving a helping hand :)
The kits came with a bottle to fill and a picture to cover.  We had to peel off small sections of the picture at a time to make a sticky area for the sand to stick.  Dallas was able to do a lot of his by himself; Reba needed a little more help from Daddy.
Reba's finished picture...to which Doug said that even Kesha would be jealous of the amount of glitter Reba used!

I found a couple inexpensive frames so they could display their pictures in their room (without having sand falling everywhere)

Christmas with Rosenfelds

We were able to spend Christmas Eve with Gram's side of the family.  Gram found my camera in the diaper bag; therefore, I have pictures to share with you all!

Dallas and Reba always love playing with this toy (I think it's Little People, but I'm not sure) when we are at Aunt Pat's house.
Doug and I joined Christy, Aunt Peggy and Kathryn in a game of Tripoley

The kiddos were able to decorate gingerbread men (thanks to Jeff for bringing the supplies)

(Great) Uncle Junior has a special spot in his heart for Reba - they share a birthday and are both left handers ;)  Reba was happy to climb up in Uncle Junior's lap and share her game today.
Gram helped Julianne open her goody bag
Aunt Peggy had ordered from my Jamberry party in the fall, but was waiting for me to show her how to apply them.  So we had a pedicure session!

A new family photo!

Made with Love

Reba was very excited to show Doug and I what she had made for us in school.
She made a wonderful hand-print snowman
and an ornament for the tree.

Reba's Butterflies

The other day, I showed you Dallas working on his Christmas project...so it was only fair that Reba get a chance to work on her Christmas project too!  Reba received butterfly magnets.  Her and I worked on them a couple different days as well.  I forgot to take pictures of the first round, but I did remember the second time!

A blank canvas...
She worked oh so hard to cover every spot!
Patiently waiting for it to dry so she could add the glitter glue and the gems...

Dallas' Tractor

One Christmas present that Dallas received this year was a wooden tractor that he could build and paint.  We spent about three days on the project.

The first day was building.  Dallas did a great job of applying the glue and holding the pieces while waiting on the glue to dry
He was pretty proud of his work
The next day was a nice snowy day - perfect for staying inside and painting!
After the first coat of paint
After naps, Dallas applied his second coat and touched up a few areas.  The next morning, Dallas didn't have school because of the snow, and Daddy's office opened late!  So...they finished the tractor by adding the decals!

Until next time...

Happy Hair

Before Christmas break, Dallas' kindergarten class made their own Happy Hair people while they learned about the letter H. Thankfully, the teacher took them home and kept them watered so after the holidays the "hair" was growing!  The kiddos were able to bring home their Happy Hair in early February.
The teacher told them they could even give Happy Hair a haircut!  So the next morning before going to school, Dallas had to give the little plant a trim.

I forgot to take an "after" picture, but I'm sure it won't be long before Happy Hair needs another trimming!

Until next time...

Beach Time, Garden Tractors, and Crafts

Towards the end of July, the kiddos were able to spend a long weekend with Pa and Gram.  One of the kiddos had asked prior to going about riding the boat again.  So...Gram scheduled a visit with Jim and Linda!  Unfortunately, their boat isn't up and running, but the kiddos still had a fun visit.

They might not have been able to ride the big boat, but they were still able to go on the water in the paddle boat!

Jim and his son like to participate in garden tractor pulls...I'm sure Dallas was beyond trilled to sit on one of their pullers!
Gram usually has a craft project to do with the kiddos, and this time they made stepping stones
with the kiddos' hand prints and names
Don't they look just lovely in one of my flower beds?

Making Sun Catchers

Gram and Pa gave each kiddo a do-it-yourself sun catcher kit for Valentine's Day.  They had fun working on the project, but it was a bit much for Little Miss to get those tiny beads in the small areas.

Reba was making a ladybug
and Dallas made a bumble bee
Once the beads were placed, the sun catchers were ready for the oven!

Cooling after being in the oven...

Now, we need to find something to hang them with and place them in their bedroom windows.
Until next time...

Reba's Projects

Reba and I have been doing some projects in the morning while Dallas is having fun and doing projects at school.

One particular morning, when we had the play-doh out, Reba requested a pond and a castle.  I then added the tree, to which she stated that trees are not yellow.  We then made the ducks and fish together.
Both of the kiddos love to paint.  I came across these LARGE coloring pages in the basement the other day, and thought they would be the perfect size for Reba to paint.  She had a blast, and she was soooo excited to show it to Daddy when he got home from work. (I did help paint a few areas)
