Clearance Fun

I will be the first to admit, I love to shop a couple days after a holiday and grab up on the clearance fun!  Today, while at Wal-Mart, they had Halloween marked down 75%, and Target had their things 90% off.  I not only found crafts/projects to do with the kiddos, but I was able to buy all of them costumes for next year. Yes, they will even get a choice...I got 2 for each of them!  OK...back to our project for today - pumpkin shaped rice krispies.

They concentrated and worked so hard on their designs.

And, they were pretty proud of the end results!
Until next time...

Real Trick or Treating

I have heard in previous years that St. Wendel is a great place to trick or treat, and this year, Dallas heard the talk at school as well.  Doug and I decided the kiddos were big enough to take this year and give it a try.  Wouldn't you know, we pick the coldest Halloween to walk around town and knock on doors!  Oh, well.  Dallas and Reba had a blast, and they came home with quite a load of goodies.

The kiddos had to go up to the door and knock on their own.  They did an awesome job!

Check out those bagful of candy!
Hopefully, next year it will be warmer.

Until next time...

Trunk or Treat

This afternoon was our church's annual Trunk or Treat event.  We love taking the kiddos because we it is a safe area for trick or treating, we see lots of people we know, there are snacks, and a few games.  We lucked out once again this year, and had a gorgeous afternoon to go.

My trick-or-treaters...a red crayon, a puppy, and an owl
Gathering some goodies!
I also love that our priest dresses up and participates in the fun!
After visiting all the trunks, we grabbed some popcorn and drinks and headed inside to try our hands at Bingo.  We decided to leave after I won (4-corners)!
Until next time...

Fun Friday Fotos - Trunk or Treat

This past Sunday was our church's annual trunk or treat.  I was able to get a few pictures before heading out...
Buzz Lightyear
Princess Tiana
Parishiners decorate the "trunks" of their vehicles and pass out candy to the kiddos.  Dallas was much better about going up and saying "trick or treat".  Little Miss stuck like glue behind big brother holding up her bucket.

They really liked this set-up because they were able to pick their own treats; I'm sure the tractor had nothing to do with it
Yesterday the kiddos were even able to dress-up for school.
Which were the same costumes they chose last year!
Whatever makes them happy :)

Until next time...

Trunk-or-Treat!

Our church had a Trunk-or-Treat day over the weekend.  In case you haven't heard of such a thing, it is when people decorate the back of their cars (trunks), vans, trucks, motorcycles, etc., and gather in an area to pass out treats.  It is to promote a safe, and non-scary, trick-or-treating experience.  We loved it because it gave our kiddos the chance to dress up and gather candy!  When you live in the country, trick-or-treating consists of dressing up and driving to friends' houses in the country...a lot of in and out of the car!  Anywho...enough of the words, on to the pictures!

Introducing Minnie Mouse and Curious George
People not only decorated the trunks of their vehicles, they also dressed up themselves!
Gathering candy from the robot
Santa and Mrs. Claus were even there!  Dallas had no problem sitting with Santa...Reba wanted nothing to do with them
Reba spotted Thomas the Train...
and Dallas spotted the tractor!
We voted on which trunk we liked the best, and then made our way home...check out the loot!
Until next time...

Boo at the Zoo

On Sunday evening, I headed out with the kiddos to Boo at the Zoo!  Doug was already there working at the Monsanto table handing out candy.  This was the best way to get the kids from the parking lot, across the street, and into the zoo...
We finally made it to the entrance!
Once we found Daddy's table, he was able to slip away and walk around with us...We weren't able to see many animals because it was getting dark and they were inside.  We were able to see the rhino; he is housed in the main level of the nocturnal pavilion!
A quick stop for a little bean bag toss
She insisted on carrying the bag and walking on her own
The kiddos were very interested in the giant cockroaches...I kept my distance.
All in all, it was a great evening.

Happy Halloween!

On Friday, I took Dallas Trick or Treating at Doug's work. As you can tell, Daddy was busy when we got there...
Off to find some candy!
It didn't take Dallas long to figure out how to pick out the candy...
We also made a few stops at the businesses around the square in Williamsburg. They had Trick or Treating hours on Friday because most of the businesses are not open on Saturdays.

I tried to get a few more pictures of my bumble bee when we got home, but it was very windy and he wasn't in the mood to hold still!
Happy Halloween everyone!
Until next time...

Trick or Treat!

Smell my feet...
Give me something good to eat...
If you haven't figured it out yet, Dallas was a puppy for Halloween!
Our original plan was to be a chili pepper. I scored a great deal on one off E-bay. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was too small for our little man. I tried to return it to Target...it still had the tags on it...only to find out it was from last year's line. By this time, the costume racks were getting pretty thin. I was finally able to find a costume in Dallas' size.
I took him into Monsanto this afternoon for some trick-or-treating, and everyone thought he was adorable. Here are some more pictures...

This is our dear friend Gema. The one we just recently had a going away party for. Today was her last day.

Finally, I got Dallas to smile.Here Doug is with Justin, Dallas, and Mitchell. A family shot. {FYI: that's Agustin in the background. He worked in a different department at Monsanto, and then took a job in St. Louis. That is why he and Gema are leaving}

Even though Dallas wasn't really "trick-or-treating", he still managed to get a bag of M&M's from Gema's basket!

Finally, in other funny news...we ran out of dog food tonight when we fed the boys. We had meant to go grocery shopping and Wal-Mart-ing after taking Dallas ToT-ing. Only, it was such a nice day, we decided to go home and grill out instead (there's always tomorrow to do the shopping). Anywho...back to my story. Apparently, Fred didn't think he got enough to eat, so he was trying to open the pizza box from last night!Nothing goes together quite like pizza and beer...well, besides oreos and milk!

Until next time...
