Julianne's 1st FreezePop

Dallas and Reba asked for popsicles today, and of course, Julianne thought she needed one too.
Yep, she loved it!

Fun Friday Foto - Roll Over

As I was taking the kiddos to school today, the van had a bit of a milestone...

We purchased the van at the end of March in 2012 with about 27,000.  In 3 short years, we have drove nearly 75,000 miles!

Fun Friday Fotos and Flicks

A few weeks ago, while playing in the garage, I thought it would be appropriate for Julianne to actually get to sit on her pedal tractor - you know before Dallas and Reba wear the treads off the tires!
Dallas then decided to take his baby sis for a ride...
Well, you know...Monkey See, Monkey Do.  Reba tried to take Julianne for a ride, but "she's too heavy" according to Reba.
Check out Julianne's newest trick
That video was from the first day she rolled (March 17), she has gotten much, much faster!
Now, she needs to remember how to roll from her belly to her back...

Until next time...

Reba's First Haircut

Before leaving on vacation, I decided everyone needed a haircut...including Reba!  Yes, she is 2 1/2 years old and she finally got her first haircut.  Mind you, I have trimmed her bangs multiple times, and I cut Doug and Dallas' hair, but I couldn't gather enough nerves to take the scissors to Little Miss.

-Aunt Katie, remember what happened when you cut my hair in junior high?  That's a story for another time...

Here's Reba before Bob-Bea (yes, that really was the stylist's name) started.  Reba wanted to sit on my lap and not in the booster seat - hey whatever works! (and, no, I didn't get my hair chopped, it's just tucked into the neck of the cape)
Snip, snip
Afterwards...
I didn't have Bob-Bea take much off, just evened up the back.  The sides of Reba's hair are still above her shoulders, and I didn't want to have her hair that short.  Also, Dallas couldn't decide if he wanted in the above picture or not, so please excuse his sour face.

Such a big girl for sitting still and getting her first haircut!
Bob-Bea saved a few trimmings for me and even made up this certificate for Reba...

Milestone

Yesterday, I decided it was time to change up Reba's bed.

Unfortunately, she has had an accident at night for the last 3 nights.  I don't know if it's because I'm not hearing her when she wakes in the morning or what exactly the problem is...it could be that she has been having too much to drink at night as well.

Checked out who napped like a champ yesterday afternoon...
Reba also went down great at bedtime.  She did get up about five minutes after I left the room saying she needed to use the bathroom, but then went right back and fell asleep.

We do have a twin bed for her, but it is in the basement and Daddy has been working some crazy hours and hasn't been able to help me drag it upstairs.  We'll go this route for now, and then make another transition once work slows down for Daddy.

I'm so glad my kiddos are great sleepers, and make these transitions easier!

Until next time...

Milestone

Look who has moved into a big boy bed!
This morning Dallas and I put together his bed.  Luckily, it was a very simple process.  The trickiest part was that silly bed rail that I totally insisted he have.  Oh, well.  Dallas took his nap in the bed without getting out of bed once.  He also went right to sleep this evening without a fight.  There...I just jinxed it.

Some might wonder why I switched him with Doug being gone, getting ready to move, etc.  Here is my reasoning.  I hope that this will make the transition to a new home easier having already gotten used to the big boy bed.  (Reba will be getting Dallas' crib, as the crib she is currently in is borrowed from a friend here in Williamsburg)  Also, not too long after Labor Day weekend, Dallas learned how to climb out of the crib.  He only did it once, but that was enough to convince me he is ready.

Exciting News!

Reba pulled herself up to a standing position last night!

Sorry, I don't have a picture...but I have the camera within arm's reach for when she does it again.

Looks like Doug and I will be lowering her crib mattress very, very soon.

Until next time...

Milestones...

Today, Doug and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary.
Happy Anniversary, Doug. I love you so much. Thanks for being a wonderful husband and a terrific father. Thanks for the memories we have created thus far, and I look forward to many more years and many more memories to come.
Until next time...
(oh, yea...the other milestone - this is post #500 for DR. Bergman!)

Thursday Tales

So this little hodge-podge post is just to catch you up on the happenings these past few days (week)...

Aunt Katie generously brought us some rhubarb from her patch this past weekend!
If you can believe - it tastes even better than it looks
Dallas loves carrots - typically we cut his carrots into smaller pieces, but he grabbed the whole thing and went to town as soon as Doug was finished peeling it! (yes, he ate the entire thing)
Our big news of the week!!! This little lady can sit on her own! Reba started sitting up about a week and a half ago. It is amazing how fast she went from the little "tri-pod" sit to fully supporting herself. Of course, she still looses her balance after a couple minutes, but it won't be long before she is a complete pro at it.
Until next time...
