Just Like Dad

At the start of summer, Dallas asked to have all his hair buzzed off.  Just like Daddy.  I said no because I wanted him to have some length for Aunt Katie's wedding (and pictures).  I also did not bring it up after returning from Iowa - I may have secretly not been wanting to do it.  Well, that ended tonight.

Chop, Chop

 Someone got a haircut!
A week or so ago, I gave the boys haircuts.  That got Reba asking for a haircut too.  Only, she didn't just want a trim like Momma is use to giving her.  She wanted short hair "like Momma's".  I was pretty uneasy about cutting that much off, so I turned to a friend that is a beautician!  Miss Abby's daughter, Chloe, is one of Reba's best friends, and she was happy to help.
About halfway done!
I was afraid that after Miss Abby got started Reba would change her mind.  That was not the case at all!  Reba LOVES her new do.

Happy Hair

Before Christmas break, Dallas' kindergarten class made their own Happy Hair people while they learned about the letter H. Thankfully, the teacher took them home and kept them watered so after the holidays the "hair" was growing!  The kiddos were able to bring home their Happy Hair in early February.
The teacher told them they could even give Happy Hair a haircut!  So the next morning before going to school, Dallas had to give the little plant a trim.

I forgot to take an "after" picture, but I'm sure it won't be long before Happy Hair needs another trimming!

Reba's First Haircut

Before leaving on vacation, I decided everyone needed a haircut...including Reba!  Yes, she is 2 1/2 years old and she finally got her first haircut.  Mind you, I have trimmed her bangs multiple times, and I cut Doug and Dallas' hair, but I couldn't gather enough nerves to take the scissors to Little Miss.

-Aunt Katie, remember what happened when you cut my hair in junior high?  That's a story for another time...

Here's Reba before Bob-Bea (yes, that really was the stylist's name) started.  Reba wanted to sit on my lap and not in the booster seat - hey whatever works! (and, no, I didn't get my hair chopped, it's just tucked into the neck of the cape)
Snip, snip
Afterwards...
I didn't have Bob-Bea take much off, just evened up the back.  The sides of Reba's hair are still above her shoulders, and I didn't want to have her hair that short.  Also, Dallas couldn't decide if he wanted in the above picture or not, so please excuse his sour face.

Such a big girl for sitting still and getting her first haircut!
Bob-Bea saved a few trimmings for me and even made up this certificate for Reba...

1 More Week...

In just one week Dallas will turn 2!!! So...to get ready for the big day, I gave him a hair cut last night. Of course, I bribed him with a sucker so he would hold still. The picture on the right is before the haircut, and the 3 on the left are after the haircut.
Even after I gave him a bath and recombed his hair, I pretty happy with my work!

Until next time...

Another 1st!

My baby got his 1st haircut today!

I finally gave in to Doug saying that Dallas' hair was getting too long on the sides. So...today, we gave him a haircut. Doug held Dallas and distracted him with goldfish while I cut his hair. Here are some before and after shots!

Here is a small amount of what I cut off (and saved for his baby book)...
