Frosty the Snowman

We were blessed with another covering of snow on Friday night into Saturday morning.  This time the snow had a bit more moisture to it...aka: great for packing and building a snowman.  But...we had to wait for the kiddos to get back from their trip to Pa and Gram's.  Therefore, we didn't get out to build our Frosty until New Year's Eve.

The kiddos dressed and ready to go outside
By the time, I got dressed and headed outside, they already had the base built and the middle section ready to go up
Helping pack the snow
The head gets attached (Frosty was taller than Daddy!)
I didn't have the best pieces to decorate Frosty, so we improvised...Dallas adding the Colts' sock hat
Reba added the Colts' scarf
Apples for eyes, three baby carrots (held together by toothpicks) for a nose, and goldfish for a mouth!
The kiddos were pretty cold by this point, so we stopped without giving him any arms!
Until next time...

***as of the 6th of Jan, Frosty is still standing.  He has melted some and is leaning a bit more.  We are to get temps in the 40's this next week.  I wonder how much longer he will be with us...

Daddy's Golden Birthday!

Today Daddy turned 30 on the 30th!  His "golden" birthday, as some might say.
We celebrated by going out to eat at a fabulous local restuarant, The Log Inn.  It is the oldest restuarant in Indiana, and it has the best fried chicken!
Daddy and Dallas in their matching (Dallas) Clark shirts
Not sure why she was sticking that bottom lip out to Daddy, but it was kind of cute...
Can't take ones' picture without taking the others'
The kiddos were excited to give Daddy his birthday present.
I'm surprised neither of them spoiled the surprise of what we got Daddy (a new basketball!)
We finished off the night by trick or treating at Boo at the Zoo! (more on that in another post)

These were taken last Sunday before Church - they both chose to wear their Colts outfits.

Even More of Dallas' Birthday Weekend

My mom emailed me some of the pictures she took while out visiting for Dallas' birthday. I thought I would share some of them with you! Also...look forward to another post with pictures from Dallas' birthday celebration with Gram and Grandpa Bergman and Aunt Josie.

Reba and Aunt Lisa (before Miss Reba decided to nap)
GG and Reba
Dallas giving his baby sister some lovin'
Grandma Robertson and her babies
Dallas trying to figure out Aunt Katie's treadmill (my mom had a video of this which was quite hilarious as well...maybe I will be able to get her to send it too)
As many of you know, we got Dallas' name from Dallas Clark of the Indianapolis Colts. On Friday night when my parents took Dallas to Katie's, they went to dinner in D. Clark's home area. The gal that runs the bar is a good friend of D. Clark's; therefore, she has this in the bar...
(yes, in Iowa, children are allowed in the bar!)

Grandpa Jim and Reba...they must have been having a serious conversation
Dallas and Grandpa Jim watching some basketball

Super Bowl Party

Even though the Colts didn't win, we still had a fun time with friends watching the game and seeing the commercials!

Me and kids waiting patiently for game time.
Tamara (the hostess) making friends with Dallas by sharing her plate of food! (Mom always said the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!)
Apparently it worked!
Brad (the host) trying to make friends with Dallas...The Big D did warm up to him later in the evening.
Reba was a little quicker to take a liking to Brad
Doug and Dallas after the game
Here's what Reba thought about the outcome

Iowa Power Show

This past Wednesday, Doug took the day off work, and we all headed to Des Moines for the Iowa Power Show (aka: farm machinery show). This was the first view we saw when we arrived...
...needless to say, Dallas got super excited for the day!

The Big D loved being able to get in the tractors, turn the steering wheel, and play with all the levers!
I can't believe how nice kids have it these days when they ride along! We used to have to sit on milk crates, upside-down 5-gallon buckets, or in the window...or if there wasn't a cab (gasp!) we had to sit on the fender!
It's hard to make it out in this picture, but Dallas is telling Dad to wait his turn to climb in
All in all, we had a wonderful time. Plus, it was nice to get out of the house.

On a different note, Dallas is beginning to "share" more things with Reba. He will bring a tractor to her and set it in her lap, or in this case...read the tractor magazine to her!
Until next time...

...Go Colts!!!

Un-Creative Title

I'm sorry I don't have anything cute to name this post. It is just some random pictures from the weekend and the beginning of our week. Enjoy!

Reba watching the Colts game with me on Sunday. (She was excited for the victory)Once Dallas saw Reba was getting her picture taken, he had to climb up and get in one as well.
Have you ever gotten lost in a good book? Well, we about lost Dallas in the pile of books!
Reba has gone from a pacifier girl to a thumb sucker!
Wide-eyed after bath time. I love how her hair is going every which way. I'm thankful she still has hair on top of her head because she has a major bald spot on the back of her head!
Until next time...

p.s. I hope the pictures aren't too blurring...I used a new method to downsize my pictures this time.
