Holiday World 2015

It finally happened...We went to Holiday World!
Aunt Lisa has been asking us for the past 3 summers to join her when she takes the Jr. Leaders on their achievement trip to Holiday World.  It hasn't worked well in our schedule before, but this year it did.  Of course, it had to be one of the hottest days of the summer, but we still had a wonderful time.  Unfortunately, Daddy wasn't able to join us, but I'm sure we will be visiting again because the kiddos loved it!
Julianne wasn't so sure about this ride - it was the first one she was on.
Reba thought it was awesome to be riding on her own
Finally, Julianne relaxed when she noticed Reba was having fun behind her
We then went to the carousel.  Julianne loved riding on the horse (which is one of her newest words)

They all enjoyed this rocket ride, but the seats were very hot on the girls' legs, so they didn't want to ride again

This free fall drop was a group favorite

Dallas and Reba then made their way to this Santa Sleigh, while Julianne went back to the carousel.
Then, Dallas wanted back on the drop ride.  He rode 3 times in a row before I made him take a break!

It was really warming up at that point, so Aunt Lisa thought they needed to ride something that included water.  Julianne was too small, so we found a place to rest and get a drink while waiting on the others to pass on the raft.

They rode twice because Dallas didn't get wet the first time, but he got soaked the second time!  We then changed into swimsuits, grabbed a pizza for lunch, and made our way to the waterpark.  Julianne and I stayed in the splash pad area while Aunt Lisa and another chaperone, Jeff, took the older two on some water-coasters.  It wasn't too long before Sugar crashed from the fun and sun.
About an hour later, Dallas, Reba, Aunt Lisa, and Jeff returned to play in the splash pad area.

The Big D and Little Miss enjoyed "racing" Jeff down the slides!
It was getting close to time for the Jr. Leaders to meet up to head home, so we made our way to the front of the park.  Then, the rain cut loose!  So, it seemed like a good time to take my group home too.

Until next time...

Merry Christmas from our Home to Yours

We made it home from Aunt Pat's last night.  Dallas and Reba each wrote a note for Santa, placed some cookies and carrots on a plate, and filled a mug with milk and a cup with water (for the reindeer).

This is what greeted the kiddos this morning when they woke - an empty plate and cups and a letter from the Jolly Guy.
Dallas' note to Santa
For Santa, the milk and the cookies (are for you).  The carrots and the water is for your reindeer. Have a happy new year. Love, Dallas
Santa responded: Merry Christmas! Chip (the Elf that was in Dallas' classroom) says "Hi!" -Mr. C.
 Reba's note to Santa
Santa, Merry Christmas.  We have (cookies) for you. -Reba
Santa responded: Thank you! - Mr. C.
The stockings were stuffed by the TV with care...
We let the kiddos look through their stockings before we headed to Mass.  The church always looks so lovely decorated for Christmas.
A parishioner was kind enough to offer to take a family picture for us.

When we got home, everyone changed into comfortable clothes, and Dallas and Reba agreed we could open gifts.

Santa brought new batteries for the Gators!

Daddy got the girls matching pink tractors
Another item Reba mentioned more than once that she would like was a combine, I had to twist Daddy's arm to convince him to get her one...

Dallas loved watching Doug and I open presents. I do believe he is learning to love to give.

Santa also brought Dallas and Reba wooden baseball gloves that have Cincinnati Reds on them. The gloves can hold their bat, glove and ball.
Julianne was happy carrying around her new outfit
Daddy also painted a semi truck for Reba
Dallas loves his new lowboy trailer

Until next time...

PreK Christmas Party

This morning Julianne and I were able to attend Reba's class party.  They had a very special visitor arrive shortly there after.
Reba asked for a bicycle and surprises.  Of course, this is the first I had heard of her wanting a bike!  Doug and I have been asking her for weeks (months) what she was wanting...and her response was always "surprises".  I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the jolly ole fellow brings.
Before Santa left, he gave all the kiddos a coloring book and candy cane.
The group then sang a few songs for Santa and the parents.  As you will see, Little Miss still loves to sing and dance!
Reba made it to the final 5 before being eliminated in the snowball toss (hot potato)

To end the party, the class decorated their teacher like a tree!
Until next time...

Visiting Santa

Today we attended the Taylorsville, KY Farm Toy Show.  I know I have blogged about this particular show before, so I'll try to keep it short and get to the pictures.  We love this show because there is more than just the vendors selling farm toys.  There are vendors selling crafts, there are farm toy displays, there are tables with crayons and coloring pages, there are pedal tractors, and there is Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Julianne was not excited one little bit about visiting the Claus family.
I think Mrs. Claus was a little terrified of my crying little one!

Until next time...
