Mother's Day 2014

Mother's Day weekend was a busy one in our house.  It started with Pa and Gram coming down for a visit and Tball game on Saturday.  Then, Sunday morning started with church and a traditional photo with Momma afterwards.
Shortly after church, Pa-paw, Ma-maw and Aunt Lisa arrived with a special delivery...
Our summer project: a buck lamb and two ewe lambs!
Julianne hired a new assistant supervisor for the day.
Daddy got to walk the ram to the barn
And Dallas and Reba each walked their new ewes
We later went out for a nice lunch before they headed home.  All in all, it was a wonderful weekend with our families.

Until next time...

Fun Friday Fotos

After we ended our kite flying, Daddy went back to mowing the yard, and the kiddos played in the tall grass behind the barn.

They laughed and laughed and laughed!
A quick picture after church on Mother's Day
Last year, we planted 2 peach trees and an apple tree.  Last month (mid-April), the peach trees were full of blooms!
Then, one day last week, I noticed all the little peaches!  It will be interesting to see how well they ripen.
Until next time...

Another Mother's Day Present

The week before Mother's Day, my men were hard at work building me a present...
A wonderful new clothes line!!!
I have been missing my old one ever since we left Iowa, and let me tell you...I'm loving having the real outdoor/fresh air scent on my clothes, bed sheets, and towels.  Missy, I know you share in my enthusiasm!

We cemented the poles in the ground; therefore, we had to imprint the kiddos hands!
Dallas' right hand
Reba's right hand (I didn't get a photo of her putting her hand in because it took all we had to get her hand in the wet cement!)
Until next time...

Happy Mother's Day

I had an absolutely wonderful and perfect Mother's Day!  I was greeted this morning with a card, smiles, hugs, kisses and happy wishes from these two beautiful kiddos
We then headed to church, and afterwards, because the kiddos did good during Mass, we headed to Tractor Supply and Rural King!  We then spent the rest of the day at home working out in the garden and relaxing.

Earlier in the week, I was greeted with these gorgeous flowers (gerber daisies, my favorite!) as an early Mother's Day gift.
I hope all the other Moms, Mommas, Mommies, Ma-maws, Grams, Grandmas, Grannies, Great Grandmas, Aunts, and Godmothers had as great of a day as I did.

Until next time...

My First Homemade Card...

I had a nice little surprise today when I picked Dallas up from preschool...

Yep, my first homemade Mother's Day card from my little man, and a cute little flower to boot!  Now, Dallas did inform me that one of the blooms is for Reba and the other bloom is for me, so I guess it have to share the flower. :)

I can't believe that Dallas has only one day left of preschool!  Tuesday is his last day - then, it's summer vacation!  Even though this weather has made it seem like summer for the last couple weeks...

Finally, sorry for my lack of blogging lately, I really have no good excuse.  I promise I will try to do better.

Until next time...

Mother's Day Weekend

My Mother's Day started on Friday afternoon when Doug got home from Illinois!  It was so nice to have him back in time to enjoy the weekend together as a family.  As we were sitting in the apartment wondering what to do for the weekend, we decided to head north to visit with our parents (even with the high gas prices we knew the kiddos would enjoy the weekend a lot more having room to run around and be outside).  We quickly gathered our dirty laundry, a few pairs of clean clothes for everyone, and made our way to my parents' house.

We decided to meet my mom and dad at Buffalo Wild Wings in Columbus for supper.  We just love the food there...and Reba just loved the ranch dressing!
She started by dipping her fries and licking the ranch off.  Then she forgot about the fries and just dipped her fingers.  Finally, she said to heck with the fingers and just licked the cup!  She had ranch dressing everywhere!
We spent all day Saturday with my parents.  Ma-maw, Lisa, Reba and I went to town that morning to pick out some hanging baskets and to run a few errands.  Pa-paw, Doug and Dallas took a ride to see a nearby dairy farm that is a customer of my dads.  Dallas is still talking about those milk cows!  Saturday afternoon, Doug and I helped plant flowers around Ma-maw and Pa-paw's house.  We had so much fun playing the dirt that I forgot to take any pictures!  Pa-paw also got the battery charged on his tractor, so Dallas had a blast riding on it.

Sunday morning we met up with Gram and Pa at church.  Reba fell asleep within the first 5 minutes; therefore, she was a perfect angel throughout the entire Mass.  Dallas was on really good behavior as well.  We couldn't believe how well he behaved, and we were praising him up one side and down the other.  His response: "Get ice cream!"  Hmmm...maybe we bribe a little too much with the ice cream?  Somehow, we convinced him pancakes at Denny's would be a great alternative.

After breakfast, we headed back to Gram and Pa's house and just enjoyed the day outside - and I remembered to get my camera out.  Reba enjoyed being pulled on the pedal tractor.  You know that girl is comfortable when she has her thumb in her mouth.
The kiddos got this tire swing for Christmas, and they were finally able to test it out on Sunday.

Gram recently bought this sand and water play table for the kiddos.  They had a blast playing in the sand!
That was our weekend.  Doug later apologized for not "getting" me anything for Mother's Day; my reply was that he was working on buying me a house...that covers quite a few Mother's Day gifts :) and birthdays and anniversaries.  Plus, I had all I needed in being able to spend the day weekend with the ones that I love the most.

Until next time...

Mom

Happy Mother's Day to all those Moms and soon-to-be Moms.

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much..
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment or
the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Pictures

OK...so I knew when I put up my last blog that I would probably get in trouble for not putting pictures with the note. I was correct. Missy called me out on it. It has been hard to find time recently to download pictures from the camera, down size them and then post them. I know what you're thinking..."Excuses Rajean!" We are all busy, and I completely understand that...so without further ado...pictures:

Dallas helping Mommy with a post.

{The following family pictures are from Mother's Day. Doug, Dallas, and I met everyone in Peoria, IL at the Texas Roadhouse...and then went to Culver's for some ice cream. }

Aunt Lisa and Dallas

Grandpa Bergman and Dallas

GG and Dallas (he was getting pretty sleepy at this point)

Grandma Robertson and Dallas (finally out!)

Dallas was "talking" up a storm the other day.
(I've tried to do videos but I can't seem to get
them to post...any tips?)

Ready for the Kernels game!

Dad, Dallas and Mr. Shucks
(we wanted a picture with the "real" Mr. Shucks,
but he never made his way to where we were sitting)

Dallas enjoying his very first baseball game.

What a big flirt!

We did get our garden planted this weekend - the weather was awesome! Jeremy, Laura, Mitchell, and Justin came over yesterday afternoon to help us. It took us almost three hours to plant everything! Doug rewarded the boys for their help with a ride on the Oliver. I was going to go out this morning to take a picture (Missy) of the garden, but it is raining! Also, our neighbors (Craig and Kathy) bought us a peach tree as a "house warming gift". It arrived yesterday, so we planted it as well. In a couple years we should have some peaches!!! That's about all that is news worthy around here.

Until next time...

A note from Dallas

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to write a note before Mom put me to bed. I didn't get a chance this morning to wish all the mom's out there a Happy Mother's Day! Mom, Dad and I went to Peoria, IL today to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Robertson, Grandma and Grandpa Bergman, GG, and Aunt Lisa. We ate at the Texas Roadhouse, and it was delicious! (well, that's what Mom said) We also went to Culver's and got sundaes...they were good too.

Happy Mother's Day!

One more thing before I head off to bed, did you all realize that I am two months old today?!?! I had to remind Mom to take my picture so everyone could see how big I'm getting. I go to the doctor for my 2 month check-up on Friday. I'll make sure Mom updates you on my growth. She says I might be a bit cranky after the appointment...something has been said about getting shots, and I really don't like the sound of that!
