A Sad Day

I'm deeply saddened to leave this update for our neighbor, Jess. The following was posted on Jess' blog by her dad this morning:

Jessica, born May 15 1994, passed away at 1:30 this morning at University Of Iowa Hospitals. Services are pending at this time. Thank you all for the prayers and thoughts over the past 2 months. Jessica has went to be with her lord and that in itself is a great comfort to our family. She is free of pain, disease, and machines. She now enjoys the fruit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ.

I also want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It will be a tough time for our community, but with God's grace we will make it through.

Until next time...

Go Colts

Hello everyone!

Since Mommy was putting up so many new posts, I thought I would add one as well. I had a great time visiting everyone this weekend, and I can't wait until Thanksgiving when I get to see you again. As most of you know, I am a pretty spoiled by my grandparents. This weekend, I got a new Colts outfit and this really cool monkey rolling toy. I had Mommy take my picture so you could check it out. I was able to cheer on the Colts until half-time last night, and then I fell asleep. I guess I must have been the lucky charm because the game went downhill after I went to bed. Oh, well.

I'm really excited about Halloween and trick-or-treating. Mommy finally got the costume situation figured out...I think. Also, Daddy's birthday is this week! Lots of fun to be had.

Until next time...

My Birthday

I just wanted to let you know that I have the best husband in the world.

He called me last night around 6:30 and asked me on a date! He had lined up a babysitter and already called Texas Roadhouse to put our name on the list. Our friend Gema from work has been telling us since Dallas was born that she would watch the little guy. Usually, when we do go out, it is with everyone from work so she hasn't had a chance. Last night, she did. We dropped Dallas off a little before 8 o'clock and headed out. When we got to the Roadhouse, we were seated right away. The food was excellent - like it always is. Doug, of course, told the server it was my birthday. I didn't get the "Big Ye-Haw", but I did get a big dish of ice cream! It was a wonderful birthday.

Finally, I want to thank everyone that sent cards, emails, left comments, and called. It was so nice of you to think of me on my big day!

Until next time...

We're Still Here

Hello! I know it has been a few days since my last post. We are still operating without our computer. I promise, one of these days we will have it looked at. When that happens, you will get Dallas pictures! I know you are all anxious to "see" him again.

Today, Dallas and I had an afternoon adventure. We headed into town to visit Dad at work! He was wide awake when we left the house, but the ride into town put him to sleep before we got to the blacktop! Of course, he slept pretty much the entire time we were at work. Oh well...everyone still enjoyed seeing him.

Also, I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their thoughts and prayers. Prayer is a very powerful thing! In addition, thank you to all those that sent cards, emails, flowers, and food. It was all greatly appreciated!

Until next time...
