Week 37 and Baby Poll

Holy Moly!  We are almost to the end of this pregnancy...here is what I'm looking like these days.
When people ask how I'm getting along, my typical response is that I'm "hanging in there."  I don't feel bad, but I don't feel great.  The baby has really slowed down on its movement in the last week, and I have slowed down as well!  I am having contractions here and there, and I'm having quite a bit of back pain.  I'm also experiencing pain/pressure in my upper inner thighs (sorry if that's too much info), but I don't remember this same pain/pressure with the other pregnancies.  I started feeling this particular pain while at the Kentucky Fair, but then it went away after 2-3 days.  Then, other day my foot slipped out from under me when I stepped on the garage floor with a somewhat wet shoe.  I didn't do the splits, but it was the start of them.  I was able to catch myself, but it definitely flared up this pain again.

Last week, at my check-up, I saw the Nurse Practitioner, Ashley, because Dr. Alvey was on vacation.  Ashley did the Strep Group B test (and I found out today that it came back negative).  She also checked my progress, and said that my cervix was beginning to soften, but she would not call it dilated to a 1.  She also made no mention of effacement.

Today, I had my weekly check up with Dr. Alvey.  She checked me and said that I was dilated to a 1 or 1.5, and that I was 60% effaced.  She also brought up the topic of induction, and how I felt about it.  I said that we (Doug and I) have no objections to being induced...seeing as the first 3 all came that way!  Dr. Alvey did say that she can't induce labor before 39 weeks, so we still have 2 weeks before we can consider that route.

Lastly, while Dr. Alvey was checking the heartbeat of the baby, it was rather fast.  It was up around and above 180 beats/min.  Typically the baby's heart rate has been around 150.  Dr. Alvey listened for a bit longer, and it didn't really slow down.  She ordered for me to have a non-stress test where I was hooked up to a monitor for about 20 minutes to record the heart rate and movement.  During that time, the baby's heart rate had returned to normal.  The monitor even showed I had a contraction during the test!

I did feel like I was on Jeopardy, because I had this cool little button to push each time I felt the baby move.
Alright...So, enough of that...

I did dig out a particular shirt this morning for my 37 week picture!  I had to wear it to give you all a good comparison of each pregnancy.
With that...I'm going to open up the Baby Poll!

Here's how you play...

1) Click on the comment link at the end of this post
2) Take a guess at what day Number 4 will arrive
3) Take a guess at what
Number 4's length will be
4) Take a guess at what
Number 4's weight will be
5) Finally, take a guess if
Number 4 is a boy or girl!

Make sure to leave your name, especially if you don't have a blog log in name.

Here's how you can play if you don't have a log in: Leave your guesses, and then select the "button" for either -Name/URL or -Anonymous.

If you choose -Name/URL, then just type your name in the name box...You can leave the URL box blank.

Here are some helpful tips when thinking of your guesses. My due date is Oct. 7, and this has changed.  I originally thought I was due at the end of October.  With Julianne, my due date was Dec. 5, and did not changed during the pregnancy.  She was born on Dec. 6th - by induction.  Julianne weighed 7 lb 12 oz and was 21 in long.  With Reba, my due date was Nov. 19th and did not changed during the pregnancy. She was born on Nov. 17th - by induction.  Reba weighed 7 lb 4 oz and was 20 in long.  With Dallas my due date was originally March 24th, then it was moved to March 4th. Dallas arrived March 11th - by induction. Dallas weighed 8 lb 8 oz and was 21.5 in long.

Until next time...

Week 34

I'm really trying to be better at capturing this pregnancy, so here I am at week 34!  Can you believe only 6 more weeks until Number 4's due date?!?!
Once again, everything is progressing as it should, and this little one is very, very active!  It will wake me multiple times at night with its acrobatic moves.  I guess I should look at this as preparing me for those night time feedings.  I am also continuing to experience heart burn when I lay down at night.  I don't remember having much when I was pregnant with Dallas, I had some at the end of my pregnancy with Reba, I had quite a bit from the end of the 1st trimester on with Julianne, and I have had it from the get go with this one!

Dallas and Reba love to cuddle up beside me and place their hands on my belly waiting for the baby to move.  They also love telling the baby good night and that they love it.  Julianne will point to my belly on occasion and say, "Baby".  We'll see how she adjusts once the little one is here.

Until next time...

Week 32

It's been two weeks since my last baby/belly update.  Although not much has changed since my last update.  I did end up being extremely tired after the week of sheep shows and putting up garden produce.  I have since recouped, and I am back to "normal" for the time being.
Until next time...

Happy 33rd Birthday (to me)!

What a day!  I got up early in hopes of getting a hair cut before my baby doctor appointment.  Only, as I was getting ready to leave, I found out I had left my wallet in the van last night.  Doug took the van today, so I could take the truck to have the tires rotated.  Thankfully, I had enough time to run up to Doug's work to get my wallet and get to the salon when it opened (one of those walk-in only places).  I ended up getting about 2 inches cut off the overall length, and I had the gal add layers - which has really brought out the waves/curls in my hair!
As far as the baby check-up, yesterday marked week 30 for baby number 4!  Everything continues to be on track, and baby is as active as ever!  I'm sure I am going to be exhausted next week after these sheep shows and garden work I've been up to this week.

After the baby check-up, I headed over to Sears to get the truck tires rotated.  Unfortunately, they were not able to complete the task because the stock racks were in the bed.  I had specifically asked when I made the appointment if it would be a problem.  The gentleman told me as long as they fit through the 10 ft door, they could do it.  Apparently that wasn't true.  The racks did fit through the door, but they did not allow the truck to be lifted high enough.  Oh, well...

After leaving Sears, I made 4 different stops to gather all the back-to-school supplies.  I ended my errands by stopping to get the sheep feed.  Doug then took me out for supper.  All in all, it was another great birthday!

Until next time...

Fun Friday Foto - Week 28

I know I'm not very good this go-around with my pregnancy updates, and I apologize.  Thus far all is well.  I'm feeling lots of movement, and I'm still experiencing lots of heart burn.  Without further ado, here's a belly pic for all of you that may be curious of my growth ;)
Until next time...

Phone Photos

Dallas and Reba had a little photo shoot with my phone today!  Believe me, this is just a small bit of what they took.

Dallas went first...

Then, Reba had a turn...

Gotta love their point of view!

Week 20

I know, you are probably surprised to see I'm already doing a week 20 post.  Honestly, I am, too.

This pregnancy is definitely flying by!  Let me back up.  I "officially" found out the last week of March that I was pregnant.  I had been extremely tired for the previous 6 weeks or so, I originally contributed it to the long winter we were having.  Anywho, I figured I was no more than 8 weeks along, so I put off setting up an appointment with my doctor.

On April 13th, I had my first appointment.  At the appointment, the nurse practitioner had a hand-held ultrasound machine that she said would be able to pick up an image if I was at least 8 weeks along.  I was thinking I was 10 weeks (at the most) at this point.  The NP was quite surprised with the image on the screen and stated that I was at least 12 weeks!  She couldn't give me an accurate date, as the machine was not accurate enough to take measurements (it was the size of a smart phone).

I scheduled my next appointment for May 4th, along with a full ultrasound to determine my due date.  I was able to take the kiddos along for that visit, and they were super excited to see the baby on the big screen.

Here are a few of the images from our visit

The tech was wonderful, and we had a great visit.  Although, I was quite shocked, once again, at the end of the ultrasound when the tech stated that I was 17 weeks 5 days along!  That was almost 3 more weeks than I thought.

So, here we are...half way through the pregnancy.  My official due date is Oct 7.  Let's hope Doug will be done with harvest at that point!

Enough of my story, here is my comparison picture!  Let the guesses begin: boy or girl?
L-R: Dallas ('07), Reba ('09), Julianne ('13), and #4 ('15)

Announcement

Remember the photo shoot I had with the kiddos a few weeks ago?  Well, I had another reason for the pictures.  I wanted to make a card...

Week 40

I had another doctor appoint this morning for Baby B#3.  Doug is off work for the remainder of the year (he had some stocked up vacation days), so he was able to go with me!  My weight was the same, my blood pressure was normal, baby's heart rate was normal, but I had progressed from 2 cm to 3 cm!  Therefore, my doctor gave us the option to come in tomorrow morning and break my water to have this baby!

Here's one last photo before Baby B arrives...

Once Doug and I left the doctor's office, we stopped by the furniture store in hopes that the bunk beds (that we ordered on Nov 2) had arrived, but they have not.  We then swung by the grocery store to grab some food before the snow storm hits.

Until next time...

Week 38

With my recent neglecting of the blog, I missed last week's Baby B update.  Here is my bump photo from week 37...
I also have a comparison to each pregnancy from week 37...
L-R: Dallas (Buckwheat), Reba (Gertie), and Baby B#3
If you remember, I mentioned I would have another ultrasound during my appointment last week.  Doug was able to get off work, and we took the kiddos along too so they could see the baby once again.  This was the first time that I had an ultrasound at this stage in the pregnancy.  Both Doug and I thought we would be able to see the baby really well and that the kiddos would be able to see.  We were a little wrong though.  Because the baby is "larger", it didn't all fit in the ultrasound picture.  Therefore, we were really only able to see "parts" at a time; such as the belly/torso area or the head.  We did see the heart beating clearly, and we were also able to hear the heartbeat.  I think the heart rate was around 138.  The tech tried her hardest to get a picture of the baby's face, but with the baby being head down and facing my back, she couldn't get the wand in the right position.  Plus, the baby had its hand over its face!

Here are the two photos we came home with...
One of the face (I know it doesn't look much like a face; remember Baby had its balled up fist over its face)
Baby toes and the ball of its foot

The main reason for the ultrasound was to take some measurements.  The tech estimated the baby to be at 7 lbs 3 oz (the size Reba was when she was born!).  She also measured the torso and the head, and found them both to be in the "normal range" for my stage of pregnancy.

As far as my weekly appointment with the doctor, it went great.  I was up a total of 17 pounds since the start of the pregnancy, and my blood pressure was once again normal.  At week 36, I was tested for Group B Strep infection.  The results came back negative - if you are keeping track of those results, I was negative during my pregnancy with Dallas and positive with Reba.  Also, at week 36, my doctor checked me, and I was about 25% effaced and dilated to a 1.  At week 37, I had progressed to 50% effaced and dilated to a 2.

Today, I had another appointment.  It is hard to believe my due date is merely two weeks away!  My appointment was pretty routine.  Check my weight (up a half pound since last week).  Check my blood pressure (118/68).  Listen to Baby's heart beat (not sure what the rate was, this doctor never tells me).  Finally, check to see if I made any progress since last week.  I'm sad to report that I am still the same (50% effaced and 2 cm dilated).

Here is this week's photo of the bump...

The kiddos still love to feel the baby.  They find it funny that the hard bump at the top of my belly is the baby's bottom!  They also like to feel when the baby pokes out its heel, knee, or elbow.

I am still feeling well, but to be honest, I'm ready to meet this baby!  Sleep is very difficult, and yes, I realize sleep will be difficult with nursing a baby every 2-3 hours through the night.  The heart burn and indigestion is really getting annoying.  One thing I find funny at this point is that I don't have a problem eating.  I can remember getting to a point while pregnant with Dallas and Reba where I would take one bite and be full.  I'm not there yet.  I still go back for second helpings!  I'm hoping this means I can enjoy the Thanksgiving meals next week.  Lastly, I do believe Baby has "dropped" because I don't feel him/her in my ribs like I used to.

Until next time...remember to add your Baby B predictions here.

Week 36

As I mentioned if my previous post, today starts week 36!  Here's what I'm looking like these days...
Everything is going extremely well with Baby B, and my check-up this morning went well too.  I think I was only up a pound from my visit two weeks ago, and my blood pressure was back to my "normal" range (106/72).  The baby's heart rate was in the 140's, and the doctor says Baby is head down.  Today, I had the routine Group B Strep infection test done, and I will find out the results at next week's appointment.  Lastly, my doctor also scheduled me for one last ultrasound to take measurements of Baby.  That will be next week as well, so you can all look forward to "seeing" Baby again before delivery!

I continue to experience lots of heartburn/indigestion.  I don't remember having much while pregnant with Dallas, but I do remember it with Reba.  An old wives tale states that the heartburn means a head full of hair.  Well, Reba definitely had more hair than Dallas.  We'll have to wait and see what happens this go 'round.

Speaking of hair, you may have noticed in this week's photo that my hair is starting to get a wave back to it.  This happen while pregnant with Dallas, and then my hair went back straight when pregnant with Reba.  It should be interesting, that's for sure!

Until next time...

Week 32

Here we are...less than 2 months to Baby B's due date!
I'm loving the weather we have had this last week.  The temps drop down into the mid 50's at night and get up to the mid 70's during the afternoon!  We have had our windows opened all week.  I love to get curled up under the blankets and drift off to sleep.  If only it was easy to find a comfortable sleeping position these days...

Doug is almost finished harvesting at work.  His group has one more field to go, but that means he now gets to travel to other stations that are needing help.  Tuesday night, he stayed over night in Terre Haute before heading to help the Lebanon station Wednesday morning.  We (the kiddos and I) are hoping he will be home tomorrow afternoon/evening.

OK...back to Baby B.  Last Friday afternoon, I started to feel very uncomfortable while I was on my way to pick up Dallas at school (about 2:30 p.m.)  We came home, I got the kiddos a snack, turned on a PBS show, and lay down on the couch.  That did not help.  I was having this near constant stomach tightening.  I decided to try getting up and moving, so we all went outside to play with the kitties and swing.  Well, that didn't help either, plus it was pretty warm and humid that day, so after a half hour we came back inside.  I put in a movie for the kiddos and went to lay down in bed.  I did fall asleep for a short while and woke up when Doug got home around 5.  I started to get out of bed, thinking I was feeling better, and then changed my mind.  The pains were still there.  I then decided to call my doctor's office.

Of course, they were already closed for the day, so I was transferred to the after hours answering service.  I explained what was going on...lots of constant belly pain, (not coming and going like contractions), baby was still moving - which was increasing the pain, etc.  Luckily, my OB was the doctor on-call that evening, and she called me back a short while later.  She asked a couple questions, and said the best thing would be to come in and get hooked up to a monitor to check what was going on.

Thankfully, my friend Carla was able to take the kiddos while Doug and I headed to the hospital.  She also suggested I bring jammies and a change of clothes just in case they decided to keep me.  At first I thought, that's silly...but I'm glad she was thinking!  By the time we got to the hospital, the belly pains were starting to lessen, but there were moments that they would become more intense.  I was hooked  up to two different monitors - one to track Baby's heartbeat, and the other to track the contractions.  Yep, I was having contractions - at 31 weeks 1 day.  The first doctor that came in to check me, pointed at my stomach and said, "It's too early!  Stop it!"  We all laughed, if only it were that easy...

The doctor ordered blood work to check my gall bladder, liver, and something else (I can't remember).  They also checked for a urinary track infection.  Then my OB came to check on me.  The first round of tests came back normal, but as she was feeling my belly in between contractions, she found that the right side was very, very tender.  She believes I pulled a muscle, and the contractions were a reaction to it.  She also checked my cervix, and found that it was not responding to the contractions; therefore, I was not going into labor.  She still decided to start me on an IV and keep me over night.  The contractions were very irregular (5 to 10 minutes apart), and slight to moderate in intensity, but the tenderness of the muscle was causing me the most pain.

Doug left a little before 9 to go grab some food for us (we had not had supper at this point).  At first, I didn't think I was hungry, but I ended up eating all that he brought back!  Finally, around 10:30 or so, we decided to try and get some sleep.  Doug was able to get comfortable on the couch in the room, but each time I turned or moved or started to drift off to sleep, a nurse was coming in to readjust the monitor on the baby.  Somewhere between midnight and 2:30 a.m., I was actually able to get some sleep.  Then the nurse came in to check my vitals.  When I woke up, I felt 100 times better, and the nurse informed me that I had not had a contraction for about 20 minutes!  They had stopped.

By 5:30 a.m., both Doug and I were awake.  He needed some coffee, and I once again needed something to eat.  Doug was able to find the cafeteria, and brought some stuff back to the room for us.  The nurse came in around 7:30 for another blood draw and check, and my doctor came in to check on me around 8.  The blood work came back normal once again, and since the contractions had stopped and I was feeling much better, we were released.

I'm glad to say that I have not had any contractions since then, and I am feeling really good - even great.  Which is nice since Doug ended up having to leave out of town this week.  I had my two week check-up this morning, and everything looked great.  I was up a pound since my appointment two weeks ago, my blood pressure was down to 98/74, and Baby's heart rate was around 140.  I go back once again in 2 weeks.

Until next time...

Week 30

10 weeks to go until due date!

I had another baby appointment today.  If it seems like I just went, it's because I did - two weeks ago!  I'm down to every other week appointments.  Baby was very active during the appointment today, which made the heart beat sound faster. (I'm not sure what the rate was because my doctor doesn't count/measure like my OB in Iowa did)  Either way, it was nice and strong!

My blood pressure was once again normal: 108/78, and I am up a total of 10 pounds.  I went through old blog posts trying to compare to my other pregnancies; I found with Dallas, I was up about 15 pounds at this point, but I couldn't find a total weight gain with Reba at this stage.

As far as things happening with Baby:
Baby is around 16 inches long and between 2.5 and 3 pounds.
This one is up in my rib cage (right side) often - just like Dallas was!  I'm hoping this baby will turn soon unlike big brother who never did.
Finally, I have also noticed more 'knobs' poking out (i.e. elbows, knees, or heels) when Baby moves instead of general movement.

Until next time...

Quick Update

I just wanted to write an update on my three hour glucose test. My doctor's office called this morning and everything came back normal! No further action is needed.

Until next time...

Week 29

Today starts week 29 for Baby B#3!  Here is the latest photo of the bump.
Today I was lucky enough to go back to the hospital to retake the glucose test.  My results from last week were slightly elevated.  The top number they like to see is 130 or 131, and mine was 137.  This was my first time taking the 3 hour test, and it wasn't as bad as I had imagined it to be.  I will admit, I was pretty hungry when I arrived (I had been fasting for almost 13 hours), and I was very hungry at the end of the 3 hours!  I also was pretty tired of all the burping that "juice" was causing me.

As of the time of this post, I do not know the results, but I will share once I know.

In other news for the week - Reba was able to feel Baby B#3 move on Monday evening.  She kept giggling each time Baby moved.  Dallas has tried a few other times, but he gets distracted too easily and loses focus of what he is to be doing!

Until next time...

Week 28

Yesterday was officially the start of week 28, but I thought I would wait to update you until today because I had a check-up for the baby this morning.  Here's the latest baby bump photo...
As I mentioned, I had a check-up this morning.  It was going to be a long check-up because today was also my glucose screen.  Reba and I arrived almost 45 minutes early so that I could drink that ever lovely "juice" and then pass the time of the hour-long wait by visiting the doctor.  In addition to the glucose screen, which includes a blood draw at the end of an hour, I received my whooping cough booster shot and my Rhogam injection (for no longer being a positive blood type).  Thankfully, none of the needle prick sites are sore as of now.  We'll see how I feel later tonight and in the morning...

As for how things are with the baby - everything seems to be going well.  Reba was able to help measure the baby and find the heartbeat this morning.  She loved being able to help beings that Dallas got to help at the last appointment.

The baby continues to move more and more each day, but the kiddos still have yet to feel any kicks.  Of course, they are not quite patient enough to sit still long enough.

I have not noticed as much swelling as of lately, but a have a spot on the back of my right leg where those wonderful varicose veins are starting to develop.  I asked the doctor about them, and she suggested compression stockings, and that I would need to wear them all the time.  Sure does not sound like fun to me...  Thankfully, they are not painful; just a little tender to the touch.

Lastly, I go see the doctor again in 2 weeks.  I can't believe we are already to the point of every other week appointments!  Time sure is going quickly...

Until next time...

Week 26

Sorry that I am a day late in posting this weeks baby/belly update.  Although, after taking this picture, I should have done it yesterday, when I was a little more presentable :)
Things are still going fairly smoothly.  I continue to have occasional swelling in my feet and ankles.  I also started to have some swelling in my fingers this week.  I went ahead and took off my wedding rings a few days ago.  They have been snug for the last two years, but I could still get them off somewhat easily.  Wednesday morning, it took me more than a couple minutes and a lot of cold water and soap to get them off.

In more exciting news, Doug was able to feel the baby move for the first time last night!  I had the kiddos try to feel the kicking, but it didn't work.  They continue to love to rub and hug on my belly, as well as talk to the baby.  Each of the kiddos make sure to tell the baby goodnight when heading off to bed, and they make sure to say bye-bye to the baby when I drop them off at school.

Doug and I continue to discuss names, but we haven't decided anything either way.  I think Dallas is still pulling for "Victor Oladipo Knock It Off Goofball"...

Until next time...

Week 24

Another month has gone by for this pregnancy since I last blogged about Baby B#3.  Today, I had my week 24 check-up.  Everything is still going great!  Here is the current state of my bump...
I am current up 7 pounds since the start of the pregnancy, and my blood pressure is still excellent at 112/80.  Thankfully, I haven't experienced much swelling.  Actually, there has only been one day that I had swelling in my feet and ankles.  I noticed it the evening we returned from our mini-vacation to Cincinnati (a blog post about that will be coming soon...)  When we got home, and I took my shoes off, I couldn't believe the indention on my feet made from my shoes!  I never had any swelling while pregnant with Dallas nor with Reba, so this was something new for me.  Thankfully, the weather has turned cool again, and I am trying to do better about drinking more water during the day.

At today's appointment, Dallas was able to come along while Reba was in school.  Dallas was able to help by holding one end of the tape measure on my belly, and he was also able to hold the "speaker" end of the Doppler machine while listening to Baby's heartbeat.

In other news: The baby has been moving more and more each day.  The kiddos have tried a couple different times to feel the baby, but they haven't had any luck.  Neither has Daddy.  I'm sure it will be a matter of days before they will feel their first kicks!  Just last night, I was able to see my belly move with a few of the "hard" kicks, but the kiddos were already in bed.

Dallas and Reba love to kiss and hug on my belly, and they love talking to the baby; especially telling it bye at school and goodnight before going to bed.

They have also come up with a great plan in the last week or two on how they will be able to help with diaper changes.  Here is what they have come up with...Momma will take off the yucky diapers.  Dallas will put on his garden gloves and throw away the diapers (he doesn't want to get his hands dirty, he says), and Reba will get the clean one for Momma to put on the baby!  We'll see how well, or how long, this plan gets executed.

Oh yes, and the final say on my blood type change.  I think I mentioned before that my doctor had my blood type checked a second time at my 20 week appointment, and it again came back at O- (before I was O+).  The blood lab is going to stay with the O- type; therefore, at my next check-up (week 28), I will receive my first Rhogam injection.  This will help stop my immune system from attacking Rh-positive cells during delivery.  After the baby is born, and if the baby's blood type is in fact Rh-positive,  I will receive another Rhogam  injection, should there be another pregnancy after Baby B#3.  I found this explanation online, and I believe it explains the situation very well...should you want to read more.

Until next time...

Week 20

I thought I should update you all on Baby B's progress.  Today marks the start of week 20, which means we are half way through the pregnancy.  For the inquiring minds...here is the bump!
This past Tuesday, we were blessed to be able to "see" the baby!  I had a routine 20 week ultrasound to check on baby's progress and take measurements.  We also did NOT find out the gender of the baby - remember we like the surprise.
The baby measured in at 12 oz (not even a pound, but somehow I have gained 5...)  We also heard a strong heart beat at 152 beats/min.  The kiddos did great during the ultrasound pointing out the nose and head and feet.  At one point, Dallas was convinced he could see the baby's teeth moving and proudly stated the baby was eating!  We explained that the tech was zoomed in on the baby's heart and he was seeing it beating.

Here are a few more pictures we were able to bring home of Baby B

The baby had its legs crossed...it didn't want to reveal either!
Look at the tiny baby feet!
A different few, the baby all curled up - you can clearly see the spine in this one.
I also had my monthly visit with the doctor, and she was pleased with the baby's progress and said everything looked great.  She answered a few questions for me, including the issue with my blood type.  I have always been typed as O+, but this pregnancy prenatal blood work came back with a blood type of O-.  They (the doctors and blood lab) believe that I have a weak D antigen.  Basically, if a person has the D antigen on their red cell surface, they are a positive blood type.  If there is no D antigen present on the red cell surface, they are a negative blood type.  Mothers who are "weak D" are considered positive and do not need the treatments for prevent hemolytic disease (HDFN) in babies.  Mothers can also be "partial D" meaning one or more parts of the D antigen is missing.  These mothers are considered as a negative blood type and should be treated for HDFN.  I had another blood draw done on Tuesday for the lab to double check that I have a weak D antigen and not a partial.  You can read more about HDFN here.

OK...that was a lot of technical talk...one last picture though.  A comparison of all three of my pregnancies at 20 weeks!
Until next time...

Week 18

I figured since I am almost half-way through this pregnancy, I should start blogging about it!  Without further ado...the start of the baby bump pictures.
Some things that have happened recently:
1) The bump is growing :)  and I have moved into maternity clothes.
2) I have started to feel the baby move!  It started a little over a week ago, but it was very quick.  I usually feel movement when I am sitting at the end of the day; except Sunday morning at Mass.  While kneeling for prayer before the service started, the baby was doing quite a dance number!  I have yet to feel that much movement since, but I'm sure it won't be long when I am laying awake at night because the baby will not settle down.
3) My energy level is coming back and I am feeling good once again - besides the occasional indigestion.
4) I have this crazy thing going on with my legs where they itch constantly.  Not sure what is going on with that, but I am planning on discussing that with my doctor at my next appointment.
5) Another item I am going to discuss is an issue with my blood type testing.  If you are on facebook, you might remember at my last appointment my doctor stated that my blood type was O-.  I showed her my blood donor card and blood type card from my OB in Iowa stating that I am O+.  Long story short, after discussing with some nursing friends, I am pretty sure there was some mix up with my blood work this go around because it seems a person's blood type cannot change.

Ok...that is all I have for now.  My next appointment is on July 16th, and I will also be having my 20-week ultrasound that day.  Dallas is super excited about "seeing" the baby on the big TV (he might be slightly jealous that Reba was along for the first ultrasound).  Once again, we will NOT be finding out the gender of Baby B, just a routine ultrasound to see how the little one is growing.

Until next time...
