Basketball, Pie and Ice Cream...Oh, my!

Dallas got a new net for the basketball goal in his Easter basket, and Daddy was able to put it up tonight.
Dallas' first shot up...got stuck!
After a few more attempts, he finally made one.

Our rhubarb is just about ready to be cut, so I figured I had better use up what is still in the freezer from last year.  That meant pie and ice cream was on the menu for dessert tonight!
Even Sugar snuck in a few bites from Big Sis' bowl...
Until next time...

Hoosiers 4

Dallas is really loving basketball once again.  If it is not raining when Daddy gets home from work, Dallas is asking to go out and shoot some baskets.

Occasionally, the ball will go up into the loft of the barn.  Dallas is not afraid to climb the ladder to retrieve the ball, and he is not afraid to shoot through the window!
He thinks he is pretty funny...

Not-so-Wordless Wednesday - Hoosiers 3

Dallas sinks the long shot!

Reba adds 2 points to the board

He was practicing his free throw "routine" - spin the ball in his hands, look at the basket, spin again (with tongue out) and then shoot.

Going for the dunk!

Hoosiers 2

I tried to post this last week before going on vacation, but I had trouble.  Dallas has really been enjoying his basketball hoop lately.  He's really getting the form and making quite a few goals.  Watch out world...he's the Larry Bird of his generation!
Until next time...

One Final Birthday Post

Gram and Grandpa Bergman and Aunt Josie came to visit this past weekend. They were here to help celebrate Dallas' 2nd Birthday! Enjoy the following pictures from our weekend...

Reba excited to have visitors
Dallas ripping into the presents!
Patiently waiting for Daddy to get the new Oliver crawler out of the box
A new shirt! Surely he wouldn't...
New summer clothes from Aunt Josie
Trying them on for size
Even though Iowa is know for wrestling and football, we are going to make a BASKETBALL player out of him yet!
Shooting some hoops on the new goal from Gram and Grandpa Bergman
On Saturday, Doug, Bob, Dallas and I went to a toy show. Doug has been wanting to get a purple Oliver for Reba (he bought a tractor for Dallas when he was born too). Luckily, one guy had the tractor...so we snatched it up! Upon getting home, Doug was comparing it to other Olivers we have. Dallas thought they would be best lined up...
The green Oliver is Doug's, the purple one in the middle is Reba's new tractor, and the purple one on the end is mine (yes, it's purple; just a darker purple compared to the one in the middle, and the flash from the camera made it look blue).

Grandpa Bob and Dallas watching the UNI Panthers beat Kansas!
After church on Sunday, we took some family pictures
Gram, Reba, Grandpa and Dallas
and one more with Aunt Josie (or Jo as Dallas likes to say)
Miss Reba cuddling with Daddy

Oh, and in case you haven't heard...Dallas traveled back to Indiana with Gram, Grandpa and Aunt Josie for his "spring break". He is staying with the Bergmans through today, and he will then go and stay with the Robertsons until Saturday. I'm sure he will be one spoiled (and tired) little guy when he gets back to Mom and Dad.
Until next time...

Weekend Review

I hope everyone had a great weekend. At our home, the weekend involved much basketball watching! Of course, there isn't much else to do when you get 6 inches of snow! Yes, that's right...it started snowing on Saturday around noon, and did not stop until sometime after midnight. And...it is Iowa...so there was a lot of wind to go along with the snow. Therefore, there were some big drifts happening. Doug and I couldn't believe how much the snow accumulated, and how big some of the drifts were.

Saturday evening, our friends Gema and Agustine were in town, so we met them at another friend's house for dinner. It was late when we got home, so we decided to sleep in and go to Williamsburg for church (the mass there begins at 10 compared to the 8:30 mass in Belle Plaine). Anywho...we didn't make it to church because Doug got the truck stuck in a drift! Yep, he miss-judged how big the drift was, got half-way through, snow came up over the cab, and we were stuck. Luckily, we were very close to our neighbors' house (yes, we were only a half-mile from our own house) and he pulled us out.

The rest of Sunday was spent inside doing random projects and watching some March Madness. Sadly, Doug and I are finished with our bracket picks. I had Louisville winning the tournament, and Doug had Missouri winning.

I don't have many pictures to post, and unfortunately, the weather/internet is not allow me to upload pictures today. Maybe later...

Until next time...
