Thanksgiving Weekend

Doug and I did something different this year for Thanksgiving Day.  He and Dallas went to be with Gram's family, while the girls and I went to be with Pa-paw's family.  We each had a wonderful time with great food and excellent company, but we decided we didn't like being apart on the holiday.

Before everyone parted ways at the Robertson gathering, I was able to capture this picture of the little girls that were in attendance (L-R: Julianne {almost 1}, Bria {21 months}, Grace {4 years}, and Reba {5 years})
While staying at Ma-maw's, Julianne found the Tupperware cabinet
And Dallas found the scotch tape
Reba was also able to continue her birthday celebration.  Since Aunt Katie and Uncle Brian weren't able to make it to her party the weekend before, they brought her gifts with them.

Until next time...

Gossett Thanksgiving

Today, after a fun day out shopping with my sisters, my mom's side of the family came down for dinner.  I do believe it was the first time all the "great" grandkids had been together since Christmas 2010!
L-R: Hailee (3 yr 2 mo), Sariah (4 yr 11 mo), Brinley (3 yr 2 mo), Reba (4 yr), Dallas (5 yr 8 mo)
I actually got a decent picture of my two kiddos!

GG with her greats as of Thanksgiving - she has since added Julianne, and she is to get another boy in May!
Lastly, we got a nice family picture in my mom's new kitchen!
Until next time...

Thanksgiving

Late Tuesday morning after Reba's doctor check up, we headed northwest to Iowa!  We had decided to spend Thanksgiving at Aunt Katie's.  After about 10 hours on the road and very little napping, we arrived.

Doug and my dad went pheasant hunting on Wednesday in nearly 60 degree weather!  The "women" and children stayed at Aunt Katie's and did prep work for the feast.

On Thursday, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, followed by naps and football :)

Black Friday found Doug and my dad hunting again; only this time the high was in the low 30's and wind gusts at 30+ mph!  My mom, sisters, the kiddos and I went shopping for some deals; but believe me, we were not out there with the die-hards in the wee-hours of the morning!

Saturday morning started with some family pictures, and in the afternoon, we headed to Belle Plaine to visit with Reba's godparents.  We spent the night there and attended Mass at our former church, and then headed back to southern Indiana!

Doug had Monday off from work, so we spent the day working outside.  It was getting near naptime and Reba wanted to go in.  I helped her get the door open and went back to help Doug with a project.  When I came back in the house, this is how I found Reba...I guess she was a little worn out from the trip.
and yes, that was the only picture I took between her birthday party and returning home...

Until next time...

Thanksgiving with the Robertson's

This year we only did one Thanksgiving dinner - with the extended Robertson family.  My parents (Ma-maw and Pa-paw) played the role of hosts.

Dallas and Reba decided to help Ma-maw make noodles
Some little hand made a turkey on the chair cushion with flour!
Somehow, the big kitchen table became the kids table this year! (L-R: Grace, Austin, Dallas)
The great-grandkids (L-R: Brooks, Grace, Reba, Dallas, and Austin)
Reba loved Baby Brooks
Then, Dallas wanted in on the pictures
We had a wonderful weekend giving thanks for all the blessings we have...and we hope you did too.

Until next time...

A 3 Year Old Thanksgiving!

I was lucky enough to help out in Dallas' preschool class for their Thanksgiving Feast.  Dallas was chosen to be a pilgrim!
Here's all his classmates sitting down to their meal of corn, bread and butter and vanilla pudding!
They each decorated their table area.

Time at Gram and Pa's

Dallas wanted Reba to sit with him...he can be really sweet like that sometimes...
Reba's newest toy...a pedal combine!
Of course, Dallas thought it was for him...
"Well, if it's gonna be "hers", I guess I'll let her ride"

Thanksgiving at the Rosenfeld's

Thanksgiving day started at the Rosenfeld's before heading to the Robertson's.  Reba was spoiled with some birthday presents as well...

Reba's favorite part ~ suckers!
And here she is enjoying her very first sucker...
I even made my world famous pumpkin pies ~ they were a big hit as usual
Dallas got this great magnet toy from his great aunt; it will be fun on those long car rides

Playing Catch Up

Doug, Dallas, Reba, Charlie, Fred and I all headed to Indiana last Wednesday for our Thanksgiving vaca. We had such a wonderful trip - spending lots of time with family and enjoying some delicious food. Here are a few pictures from our trip. I'm sorry for having forgot my camera during the Rosenfeld dinner.

Dallas and his 2nd cousin Sariah (there is about 9 months difference between them)
GG and her great-grandbabies
Dallas loved playing in Grandma's wheelchair
Dallas is learning lots of animal sounds...his current favorite happens to be a cat!

This one was much better! L-R: Reba (2 weeks), George Martin (11 weeks), and Autumn (8 weeks)
My crew made it back home about midnight Monday morning. Thankfully, the kiddos slept a great deal of the way home. Monday afternoon I had to meet Katie to get some things we had left. Dallas crashed in the recliner just before leaving!
Monday evening Dallas was trying to pick Reba up, so Daddy helped Dallas "hold" his little sister.
Until next time...
