Dog Sledding
Daddy, Dallas and Reba ventured out a few more times this past week to play in the snow. They even got the sleds out. The first day, Daddy pulled the kiddos around. The second day, Dallas had the idea to hook the dogs to the sled! Enjoy the little videos I put together of the pictures I took from inside (the video recordings didn't work so well through the windows)

Playing in the Snow
Remember how I mentioned that we watched the snow fall from the hospital room? Well, the older kiddos were itching to get outside and play in it. Since school was canceled for today, Daddy bundled them up and headed out!
They even let Charlie and Fred out of the kennel to run and play
Dallas thought the snow needed to be raked - or maybe he was pretending to be a plow or disk or cultivator...
Reba was attempting to make a snowball
Then Dallas decided to try his hand at snowball. He was a little more successful - especially when he nailed Daddy as he came out of the garage!

Fun Friday Fotos - The Boys
The Boys - Charlie and Fred - really enjoyed the sunshine earlier in the week, too.
Reba loves Fred!
Look at that smile! He was so excited to be out playing in the yard.
Someone played too much...

Winter Wonderland
We rang in the new year by going out to play!
Do you know how hard it is for a 3 year old to "pump" her legs while in a snowsuit? Although, she didn't care, she was having a blast!
Dallas wanted to help clear the snow, but all he could find was a rake...Like I mentioned in an earlier post, the snow was great for packing and building. I found one of the buckets for the sandbox, and Reba helped me build a tower!
I also dug out the old sled
and pulled Dallas for a few a laps
Reba then wanted a turn, and Dallas was the very kind, helpful older brother
Then she wanted to go a little faster, so Momma took over - love the dogs running along with us in this one
I later caught Reba throwing snowballs at the barn
and then she would wipe it off the siding!
Until next time...

The Boys
Charlie has always loved playing in the snow, but he has also always had a hard time staying in our yard while playing. Thankfully, with the fencing around our backyard, he can run and play in the snow all he wants! I tell you what...when he gets to run in the snow, it is the fastest you will see that old dog run!
Doug thinks we should train them to be bird dogs...look at that "point"

"Blizzard" of 2012
Christmas night we were forecasted to receive quite a bit of snow and strong winds; therefore putting us under blizzard conditions. They were projecting for the snow to start falling around 8 p.m., but as we watched the radar, it was as if there was an umbrella over us. There was snow to the north of us, and there was rain to the south of us. Although, once we woke the next morning, there was a nice blanket of snow on the ground.
A look out our back patio
The view from the roadOne of the great things about living on the state highway - our road was cleared in no time! We didn't really feel the effects of the high winds drifting roads closed, and we were able to go to town that night to stock up on some groceries!
The boys were excited to get out and play...
as well as the kiddos! Like the swim goggles they received as presents?
Once Daddy got the truck cleaned off, he had to take the kiddos out to play!
Until next time...

Fun Friday Fotos - Flowers
The flowers around the house are blooming quite nicely. We didn't get to enjoy all of them last year because we hadn't moved in at this point! (hard to believe we are coming up on our 1st anniversary in this home) Anywho...The kiddos wanted to get in a few of the shots - and they wanted the dogs in too.
Fred didn't want to stand still...
Charlie on the other hand is a ham for the camera!
...and so is Little Miss
I absolutely LOVE these lilies...
The flower bed in front of the house
My rain lily bloomed yesterday morning!
I have had this little lamb for almost as long as Doug and I have been married, and this is the first time I have put flowers in it! (It used to sit in my living room in Iowa, and held small toys that the kiddos would stick in there)
My clematis on the corner of the fence...I just ordered some red clem to go in another spot along the fence! I can hardly wait for it to come!!!

Fun Friday Fotos
Last night after supper, the kiddos wanted to go back outside and play with the dogs.
(The Boys were out earlier in the day, but Fred escaped through the fence, thus earning himself a "go straight tojail kennel" card!)
The kiddos chased the dogs all around the yard! All four of them had a grand time.
Once they were exhausted from the chasing, all four actually sat still long enough for a great photo!
Enjoy the weekend

Playing in the Leaves
While Daddy was on vacation last week, he raked up a leaf pile for the kiddos to jump in and run through and have some fun! And, that they did.
Enjoy some video clips of *all* the kiddos enjoying the pile!
Don't be fooled by Reba. She was loving the leaves just as much as everyone else...until I turned on the camera! Also, sorry for all the wind noise in the first part of the video; and here I thought we escaped that when we left Iowa. :)
Until next time...

Hello Sunshine!
Monday was a beautiful day! I made the decision to skip Dallas' nap and take him outside, and I was very glad I did. He loved being outside. I think we got every toy out of the garage and barn! Tuesday it was pretty chilly again, so we stayed in, but today it is sunshine again; although we didn't skip naptime today.
Ok...on to pictures from Monday...
I was very surprised to see my tulips popping through!
Dallas enjoying being pulled in his wagon
