Nashville: Seeing the Sights

Sunday morning, we got up and met Josie and Emily for breakfast at Shoney's and then said our good-byes to them.
We then mapped out our plans for the day.  Doug wanted to visit Cooter's Place, the Dukes of Hazzard Museum.
It was amazing how much memorabilia there was!

I wanted to see the inside of the Opryland Hotel.  We had drove around some of the outside after the concert Saturday night, but I had heard the inside was gorgeous.  Doug and I didn't really know "what we were doing" so we found a parking lot that was free for 15 minutes.  We made a bee-line into the lobby and found this...the Cascades Atrium.

It was absolutely gorgeous!  I just wish we could have stayed a little longer and explored the other lobbies...
We then made our way back downtown to tour the Country Music Hall of Fame
There was a wonderful exhibit honoring Alan Jackson's 25 years in the country music business

(One of?) Elvis' Limos
Just a few of the records on the walls
Merle Haggard's boots
One of Reba McEntire's dresses and George Strait's outfits on display
Had to take a picture of the Bandit's car (for Dallas)
The tour ended in the Hall of Fame Rotunda

Our last stop was the Ryman Auditorium.
We were running short on time, so we just walked around the outside.  Maybe we'll go back soon and get to see the inside!
Until next time...

Spring Break - Part II

Like I mentioned in the previous post, the kiddos split their Spring Break between the two sets of grandparents.  Here are some of the photos from their time with the Robertson's...

They went to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis one day.  Dallas was excited about the dinosaurs
and trains
and the super hero cars!
And you can't go to the museum without riding the carousel!
Aunt Lisa and her "Turkey"
And her "Monkey"
Another night, they went to a go-kart and arcade fun center.  Dallas said the go-karts weren't as fast as the ones in the Dells...but I think they still had a good time!

When Doug and I arrived at my parents' house on Saturday to get the kiddos before going to one of our Easter dinners...this is how we found Pa-paw and Reba!  I think if we had been a few minutes later, they would have been asleep!
Until next time...

Happy 2nd Birthday, Dallas!

I made Dallas' cake again this year...incase you can't tell it's Thomas the Tank
Doug took the day off work yesterday for Dallas' birthday. We took him to the Children's Museum in Iowa City. We had a wonderful time...here are a "few" pictures from our day out.
Got to stock up on Texas Toast
Watching the staff feed the fish
Making pizza for lunch
Dallas' favorite spot of the day...the Thomas play area
Mom trying to build some tracks
The Golf Ball Roller Coaster
Reba had to go down a slide, too.
The "Take Flight" area
Dallas and Dad making the trek up to the big slide
That was fun!
ImaginAcres
Another slide
Going down the big slide with Mom
Trying to start the plane
Time out to see what Reba was up to
The flight simulator activity
Grandma and Grandpa Robertson, Aunt Lisa, and GG made it yesterday afternoon to help celebrate. I appologize for not having more pictures of Dallas opening gifts...I did more videos this year.
Playing with his new Thomas train set
Dallas didn't get his nap yesterday afternoon...therefore, he crashed right before dinner
This was after he woke up from his "nap"
Having cake and ice cream...sugar will always bring out a smile!
In this video, we tell Dallas to blow out his candles...he is not shaking his head no, he is blowing. He then says "choo, choo"...Enjoy!
Until next time...
