Happy Independence Day!

This morning the kiddos and I headed out early on a road trip to my aunt's house.  Doug wasn't able to join us because the corn does not stop pollinating just because it is a holiday.  My dad and I brought our fryers, and Dad fried pickles, fish and fries for lunch.  Every one else brought the sides and desserts, and it was fabulous!

The kiddos were excited to meet their newest cousin, Blaine

Even Julianne wanted to give some lovin' to the baby!
Reba and Dallas also enjoyed holding Blaze, whom they had not seen since Great-Grandpa's birthday party.

When we got home the fireworks were just starting, so we picked up Daddy and drove down the road to a little subdivision to watch.  All the kiddos loved them, even Julianne was cheering!

Until next time...

Nashville: Miracle on Broadway

Doug and I were given the chance to attend Kelly Clarkson's Miracle on Broadway, which was a fundraiser for four Nashville non-profits.  Aunt Josie and her good friend, Emily, had a couple extra tickets and offered them to Doug and I.  Once Josie mentioned that there were to be appearances by Reba, Trisha Yearwood, Ronnie Dunn, and Garth Brooks, we were sold!

Pa and Gram were kind enough to watch the kiddos.  So Doug and I took off on Saturday afternoon.  We met up with Josie and Emily for supper at Caney Fork River Valley Grille.  Talk about a cool place!  We were seated right next to the catfish pond, and were able to watch the fish swim while we ate.

After supper, we made our way downtown to Bridgestone Area.  I made Doug stop for a picture before heading into the concert.
There were probably 12 special guests performers throughout the night...here are a few of the pictures I tried to capture...

Any Nashville watchers? Recognize the first guest? That's Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten)!
Meghan Trainor was the second guest on stage
followed by Kix Brooks and his wife
Kacey Musgraves also performed
Martina McBride sang with Kelly and on her own.
Ronnie Dunn also joined Kelly.
One of the highlights for me was when Trisha and Reba joined Kelly to sing "Silent Night"

The other highlight was the end of the show when Garth Brooks appeared on stage with just his guitar to sing "Little Drummer Boy".

We walked downtown after concert, and man there were a lot of people out!

Until next time...

Fun Friday Fotos - Dallas' 6th Birthday

Last weekend we had our families down to help celebrate Dallas' 6th Birthday!  As you will see in the following pictures, Dallas was spoiled with lots of new toys and clothes.  Thank you for your outpouring of love to our little man!

Aunt Katie wasn't able to make it back for the party, but she sent her gift early!
Dallas can't wait to get the pool out to give the snorkel a try!

Getting ready to open presents (The kiddos found a package of balloons we bought but never opened during our vacation to Wisconsin Dells!  They have had a lot of fun with them this past week)
Even the wrapping got in the Duck Dynasty spirit!
Gram and Aunt Lisa playing with Julianne before getting started opening gifts
Daddy and Reba patiently waiting too

An Uncle Si poster for Dallas' bedroom

A toolbox to keep all the sheep equipment organized

A new ball (his old one popped this winter)

Some new Reds decorations for his bedroom

A fish bowl

A sweet red batting helmet

A supped up pulling truck
Reba showing off her Duck Dynasty shirt
One of Dallas' new swim shirts
Ice Cream? No...it was just hiding his TerraGator!

New cards to use on the sheep head and legs
I thought Reba's posing was hilarious!
New leather show halter for the sheep - gotta put it in the toolbox!

A 3-D Angry Birds puzzle

A new pulling sled!
He didn't waste any time hooking it up to his truck!

And a new pulling tractor!

"A fishie!"  Good thing he got that fish bowl!
Dallas decided to name him "Dodge" - unfortunately, Dodge passed away on Tuesday
Some new shirts - Dallas enjoys singing "What Does the Fox Say" and he had to have a Quack Pack shirt!
Along with a talking Willie

Reba helped open all the cards...while Dallas kept opening gifts
Some more new clothes
Daddy was being funny...
Happy Birthday Dallas!  We are so blessed to have you in our lives.  We wish you many more happy years to come.  We love you and are so incredibly proud of you.
Until next time...
