Lights Under Louisville

For those that don't know, Ma-maw LOVES Christmas lights!  So, when she heard about Lights Under Louisville, she was quick to send an email to us girls asking to go while we were home.  Lucky for Ma-maw, not only does she have three girls that love to look at lights, she also has two grandbabies that LOVE to look at the lights!

The light display are underground through Mega Caverns.  They had different themes as you made your way through.  Here are just a few of our favorites...

Pre-Historic Christmas

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas...
The kiddos loved the monkey - probably because they are monkeys themselves!
 Little Bo Peep
Tinker Bell! (and Peter Pan)
 The Peppermint Mill
Choo-choo!
Here Comes Santa Claus...

on a Harley?
by helicopter?
The Reason for the Season

Frosty the Snowman!
Near the end of the display, they had this beautiful tunnel of lights to drive through!
Bye, bye Santa!
Until next time...

Robertson Christmas

On Saturday before Christmas, we celebrated with Ma-maw, Pa-paw, Aunt Lisa and Aunt Katie.  Once again, we are very spoiled blessed.

Reba received another matching outfit for herself and Lucy!
Doug was pretty excited about his new Oliver banner
Dallas can do some serious farming now that he has some grain bins!
Reba was excited about some new jammies from Aunt Katie
Reba couldn't understand why Aunt Lisa didn't want all of the bows!
Dallas loves his new dinosaurs!
I wish I could have captured her first facial expression when she opened this gift from Pa-paw.  It truly was pure excitement and surprise!
Testing out their new lawn chairs...

 Modeling her new scarf
Lastly, here's a little video of the kiddos playing in all the wrapping paper at the end of the gift exchange
Until next time...

Dallas' Pre-K Christmas Party

Yesterday was Dallas' last day of Pre-K for the year, so they ended with a party!  They even had a special guest for the party...
The kiddos each got a turn to sit on St. Nick's knee and put in their special wishes.  Dallas asked for a pair of glasses like Daddy, Pa-paw, Pa and Ma-maw wear.  Silly kiddo...doesn't he know it's in his genetic make-up to wear them one day!
Once the kiddos all had a turn talking with the jolly ole guy, they performed a few songs for him and the parents that were there.  I was so proud of Dallas for participating (remember his end-of-the-year program last spring).

St. Nick even gave each kiddos a present
a coloring book and an ornament
While waiting for the class to return from a restroom break before starting games, I was admiring some of Dallas' art work
*It says, "A house for a sad child who doesn't have toys"*  Can you tell we have been talking about boys and girls that don't have all the things we do?

Enjoying a snack and Grinch Juice (lime ice cream with 7-Up)
The craft table (making gingerbread boys and girls)
Well, there's Rudolph!
Until next time...

Fun Friday Fotos!

I am loving that the kiddos are good helpers!  Check out what they helped with this week...

Do you think they know that Momma hates this chore?

Until next time...

Out with the Old, In with the New!

The first part of December found our home without a working oven.  After a week of looking and researching, I finally decided on which one I wanted to purchase.  Add another 10 days for it to arrive for pick up...it was finally time to install it.

My old oven...
New in the box!
Doug working to hook up the gas line
Once it was hooked up and cleared of leaks, we discovered the new stove was about 1/8th of an inch too wide for the space!  Thankfully, there is a short counter/cabinet to the right of the stove, and we were able to take up the countertop and slide it over the needed space.  Unfortunately, we peeled some of the paint in the process, but (luckily) there was matching paint downstairs that had been left from the previous owners!
Ta-Da!  The new stove!
I asked Dallas what I should make first in the new oven.  His reply, "A pie!"  I asked what kind of pie.  He answered, "Rhubarb!"  So...rhubarb pie it was!
Until next time...
