Jack-o-Lanterns

The kiddos and I set out the carved pumpkins this evening.  Luckily, I found a couple tea lights in the bottom of the junk draw (thank heavens for the junk drawer!)  They loved how their pumpkins looked in the dark all lit up.  I loved that I was able to get a decent picture of the three of them on my own!

Julianne's pumpkin didn't get a design this year...
Alright, so here is my parenting-fail confession.  I put Julianne in the stroller in order to take the above picture of the pumpkins.  I did not buckle her, as I wasn't going to be that long.  Well, apparently, it was long enough for the little stinker to stand up in the stroller and fall out of it!  Yep, she landed on her head, in the gravel landscaping.
Thank goodness she is tuff-cookie!

Pumpkin Carving

Over the weekend Reba and I picked up some pumpkins at our local Aldi's.  Daddy had part of the day off today in preparation of traveling for work; therefore, we spent the afternoon carving pumpkins!

Little Miss didn't waste any time digging in to clean out her pumpkin.

Luckily, Momma was able to find some tea lights in a drawer, so we got to light them up once it started getting dark.

Candle-lit Dinner

While making supper last night, the power went out!  Luckily, there was only a few minutes left for the enchiladas that were baking in the oven, and the rice had already boiled and was chillin' on the stovetop.  The older kiddos were concerned about how we were going to see to eat, but no fear! Momma found a couple candles.
A little more than half way through our meal, the power returned, but Dallas and Reba were having so much fun with the candle-lit dinner, they asked to keep the lights off!  So, we did.

Lunar Eclipse

Did you get up early this past week to see the lunar eclipse?  I did!  {It only required me to get up half an hour earlier than normal.}

I tried my hand at capturing some photos of the "Blood Moon," but I don't have one of those fancy-dancy cameras with all the frills.

Chop, Chop

 Someone got a haircut!
A week or so ago, I gave the boys haircuts.  That got Reba asking for a haircut too.  Only, she didn't just want a trim like Momma is use to giving her.  She wanted short hair "like Momma's".  I was pretty uneasy about cutting that much off, so I turned to a friend that is a beautician!  Miss Abby's daughter, Chloe, is one of Reba's best friends, and she was happy to help.
About halfway done!
I was afraid that after Miss Abby got started Reba would change her mind.  That was not the case at all!  Reba LOVES her new do.
