Trick or Treat!

Smell my feet...
Give me something good to eat...
If you haven't figured it out yet, Dallas was a puppy for Halloween!
Our original plan was to be a chili pepper. I scored a great deal on one off E-bay. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was too small for our little man. I tried to return it to Target...it still had the tags on it...only to find out it was from last year's line. By this time, the costume racks were getting pretty thin. I was finally able to find a costume in Dallas' size.
I took him into Monsanto this afternoon for some trick-or-treating, and everyone thought he was adorable. Here are some more pictures...

This is our dear friend Gema. The one we just recently had a going away party for. Today was her last day.

Finally, I got Dallas to smile.Here Doug is with Justin, Dallas, and Mitchell. A family shot. {FYI: that's Agustin in the background. He worked in a different department at Monsanto, and then took a job in St. Louis. That is why he and Gema are leaving}

Even though Dallas wasn't really "trick-or-treating", he still managed to get a bag of M&M's from Gema's basket!

Finally, in other funny news...we ran out of dog food tonight when we fed the boys. We had meant to go grocery shopping and Wal-Mart-ing after taking Dallas ToT-ing. Only, it was such a nice day, we decided to go home and grill out instead (there's always tomorrow to do the shopping). Anywho...back to my story. Apparently, Fred didn't think he got enough to eat, so he was trying to open the pizza box from last night!Nothing goes together quite like pizza and beer...well, besides oreos and milk!

Until next time...

Happy Halloween!

I tried to get some pictures of Dallas in his Halloween costume, but this all the better I could do.

A little sneak peek... I guess you'll have to wait until we go trick-or-treating!
Until next time...

Go Colts

Hello everyone!

Since Mommy was putting up so many new posts, I thought I would add one as well. I had a great time visiting everyone this weekend, and I can't wait until Thanksgiving when I get to see you again. As most of you know, I am a pretty spoiled by my grandparents. This weekend, I got a new Colts outfit and this really cool monkey rolling toy. I had Mommy take my picture so you could check it out. I was able to cheer on the Colts until half-time last night, and then I fell asleep. I guess I must have been the lucky charm because the game went downhill after I went to bed. Oh, well.

I'm really excited about Halloween and trick-or-treating. Mommy finally got the costume situation figured out...I think. Also, Daddy's birthday is this week! Lots of fun to be had.

Until next time...

Weekend Part II

Our second part of the weekend was spent with my family at the Machine Shed in Davenport, IA. My sister, Katie, was even able to make the trip. We had a wonderful visit and wonderful food. Enjoy the pictures...

When Doug and I got home, we decided to pick the pumpkins in an effort to try and save them. The temps were to drop down into the 20's Sunday evening. I figured I was going to loss them if I didn't pick them...so why not try. We may have green-carved jack-o-lanterns this year!

Weekend Part I

Our weekend started with Gema's going away party at Fireside Winery. We did not get a babysitter for Dallas, so he went along with us. We had a great time, the food was great, and the music wasn't too bad. Gema and Agustin will be around for another week, and then they are off to St. Louis. Here are a few pictures that I was able to get.

Dallas and Mommy...and no, I did not have that much wine, I just take bad self-portraits!

Dallas also got a card in the mail from Grandpa and Gram Bergman...he thought he could eat it.

Legend of the Wooly Worm

I found this video after seeing three black/brown/black wooly worms in the yard the other day. I have been seeing this variation a lot lately, but three in one walk across the yard! Are they trying to tell us something? For those that do not want to watch the video...the old wives' tales say, "the darker the wooly worm, the harsher the winter."

Here are the woolly worms that I found...

Has anyone seen a light colored one?

Nothing too Exciting

Wow...here it is Thursday evening, and I do not have much to post about. The week has been very quiet for us, which is a very welcomed change of pace. The weather has changed dramatically in the last 4 days. We had a beautiful weekend; probably the last one for the year. It has been rainy, cloudy and cold the last couple of days. Tonight, on my way to Belle Plaine for my religious ed class, there appeared to be a heavy fog setting in; although, on my way home, it had cleared some. Tomorrow evening, we have another going away party for one of Doug's co-workers. We are hoping this will be the last for a while. This will be number 5 in the last 10 months. We are going to Fireside Winery for dinner and drinks. Hopefully, it won't be too cold! Sunday we are planning to meet my family for dinner. Mom thinks 4 weeks is long enough to go without seeing me...I mean Doug...or was it Dallas? Alright, I'm off to bed.

Until next time...

New Shirt

Daddy brought me back a shirt from Hawaii. Mommy took my picture so everyone could see. Don't mind the drool. I am getting my front four top teeth, so the drool has picked up in the last few days.

I kept reaching for the camera, so it took Mommy a few tries to get what the shirt actually says! She thought my smile was too cute to not post.
Here's my shirt!
It says: "It Happens, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Honolulu"

I really missed my Daddy. I have fallen asleep on him each night since he has been home.

Again, don't look at the drool!

Until next time...

Weekly Pictures

I think I need to apologize for going a week without a post. I have recently commented on others' blogs about not posting...I guess that is like the pot calling the kettle black. So, to make up for my lack of posts, I will put up a lot of pictures for you! Enjoy...

On Tuesday, Dallas and I took a road-trip to pick up the quarter-beef that we had purchased from a friend's parents. The leaves are close to peak around here, so I decided to take a picture. It was probably a good thing because we had strong winds today (gusts up to 30 mph) that knocked off a lot of the leaves.
In the town that we road-tripped to, they had this carving at the edge of town. I just thought it was cool looking.Laundry Day..."This label has to be wrong! I don't wear that size.""Hi fish!"Bath timeI made some peas for Dallas...here's his first reaction:Dallas' LibraryReading a good bookThe earrings Doug brought home for me So glad Daddy's home.Until next time...

Post 201

Can you believe that I have made over 200 posts on here!?!? Yep, Dallas' trip to the pumpkin farm was number 200!!!

Nothing too exciting is happening around here. Doug left very early yesterday morning. Where did he go? Hawaii. Yep, he is in Hawaii, where it is 80+ degrees, and I'm here in Iowa where it is rainy, and the temps are dropping quickly. Doug will return next Sunday morning. He is in Hawaii for an ISO audit. While there, he will travel to three different islands to visit the various sites. He was really looking forward to that part of the trip...seeing new places.

Dallas and I have a few things planned for the week. Tomorrow, I think we are going to take a road trip to pick up the quarter of beef that we purchased. Wednesday, we are going to the Miner's to can more tomatoes. Thursday is chiropractor appointments and religious ed class. Friday and Saturday are still open. I'm sure we will find something to do!

Well, I better think about bed, if I'm going to do this road trip!

Until next time...

Dallas' Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Doug, Dallas and I went to Carroll's Pumpkin Patch on Saturday afternoon. I think Dallas enjoyed it, but I think he will really love it next year (when he ran run around and take part in more of the activities and attractions). Here are the pictures from our day out!

Getting ready for an afternoon of fun.
Daddy trying out the Corn Cannons. It was much like a potato gun, but fueled by an air compressor and shot ears of corn.
The Golden Goat Bridge. You could put grain in a tin cup and send it up by a pulley cable. The grain would then dump into a feed tub and the goats would go up to the very top and eat.
Dallas milking a cow.
First experience with a kitten. Check out those eyes!
Our little shit.
The pumpkin tree. It's a little hard to tell, but they had small pumpkins hanging in the tree.
They had many tractors on the farm for the kiddos to climb on...no Olivers, so we had to go for an AC.
Family picture.
Our little pumpkin.
I want this one!
Dallas experiencing swinging for the first time. He just held onto those ropes like a pro!
Just a swingin'
Clowning around.
Little Farmer
The wheelbarrow races. This was one of the few things we passed one. We didn't think Dallas would sit so well in those wheelbarrows. There's always next year!
The Poor Man's Trampoline...again, another attraction we passed on.
Daddy found this ear of corn, and then he gave it to Dallas.
Just to make you smile.
Dallas and Daddy feeding the goat.
Until next time...
