School Days 2014

Yesterday was Dallas' first day of 1st Grade!
He was kind enough to get his picture taken with his sisters
Dallas has 12 students in his class this year - 6 boys and 6 girls.  Two boys moved in, and one girl moved to public school.

And today, Reba had her first day of Pre-K!
She thought we needed a picture of her with her brother and sister.
Reba has 17 students in her class this year.  All 7 are returning from last year's preschool class, so she was excited to see her "old" friends.  She will go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this year.  Although, she would love to go all 5 days so she would be one of the "big kids" to help the "little kids".

I am super excited to report that there were no tears (from kiddos or parents) on either day!  Here's to a blessed and joyous school year.

Until next time...

Preschool Finale

Yesterday was Reba's last day of Preschool!  Momma had to take Dallas to a dentist appointment first thing in the morning, so Daddy got to take Reba to school for her last day.  She was super excited about that.

Class Parties

I was able to help in Reba's preschool class during their Valentine's Day party.  Since I was not in charge, just lending a helping hand, I was able to snap a few photos!

The class made flowers out of tissue papers
They also played a few rounds of musical chairs
They ended the party by making heart collages
A few days before the party, as the kids and I were walking through Wal-Mart, Dallas asked if he could get his teacher some flowers.  Of course, he wanted to pick out the BIG bouquet of roses.  I was able to redirect him to these cute ladybugs.
And you know how the story goes: Monkey See, Monkey Do...Reba picked one out for her teacher too!

I did help with Dallas' class party as well, but I was the main coordinator and I forgot to take photos!

Until next time...

Reba Singing

Reba's preschool class performed a song for the staff in the office at her school last Thursday.  Just had to share!  You'll see Reba in the lower right hand corner.

And since I'm sharing a video of Reba singing, here's another one for you.  This was taken while waiting in the pick up line to get Dallas from school.

Fun Friday Fotos

Reba was very excited to be class leader one morning at preschool
Dallas sure does enjoy recess time!  I often wonder if he crawls across the ground...look at how filthy is knees are
I know I have posted pictures of Reba with her Banties (the bantam chickens are the miniature ones), but I'm not sure if I have shown Dallas with his bantam rooster.  He has named him Sha (pronounced with a short /a/ sound)
Reba was so proud of herself - she "buckled" Lucy in the carseat all by herself!
Until next time...

Preschool 2013

That's right...Little Miss started preschool this morning!
She was able to see Daddy before he left for work, and was all excited about going to school and meeting new friends.

She let me know she was done with pictures by sticking her tongue out at me...
When we got to school, she was still doing great.  She talked to her teacher a little, and I gave her one last hug and said I would be back in a few hours.  That's when the tears started streaming down her little face.  And in a complete turn of events from yesterday, Momma didn't shed any tears!

How crazy is that?
Dallas - no tears; Momma - crying fool.
Reba - crocodile tears; Momma - no tears...

I'm sure she was fine within minutes of me leaving, and I'm sure she will be full of stories when she comes home.

Until next time...

Dallas' PreK Program

I'm so glad I finally figured out how to upload my videos again because you are not going to want to miss this!

Doug and I were so incredibly proud of Dallas and his performance at his program this year.  You might remember last year, he barely sang and did not do a single movement.  What a difference a year makes!  Enjoy...(oh, and like last year - warning: the video is almost 10 minutes in length, and it get a little loud in the first song)

Here are a few pictures I was able to capture as well

This was after the kiddos had walked in and Dallas first spotted Daddy, Momma, and Reba.
Waiting for his other friends to get their animals for the song
Sitting still and waiting for his name to be called
Dallas, Daddy and Reba at the end of the program
Gotta get one with Momma too

Last Day of PreK

Today was Dallas' last day of PreK.  Here is my big guy before heading off to school...
and just for fun...remember his first day of PreK?
or how about his first day of Preschool?
Last night was Dallas' "End of Year" program.  You'll have to wait until next week to see those pictures!

Pumpkin Farm Field Trip

Yesterday was Dallas' very first field trip with school.  He was so sweet a few weeks ago when he brought home the permission slip.  Right away, he asked if I would go with him - I didn't have to ask to go along!

Here's Dallas and his friend, Spencer, riding the bus to the farm
The entire class
They all loved the grain table
We even did the corn maze!  Dallas led the group in...
and through...
And out!
Going down the Lofty Barn Slide
And swinging on the rope swing
Posing with the pumpkin Mrs. Gries picked for the classroom
Enjoying the straw ride back from the patch
We ended with a snack before heading back to the school!
Until next time...

Preschool Program

Last night was Dallas' end of year preschool program.  His teacher had told me that she was doing her best to encourage Dallas to participate, but was having a little trouble.  We all know how my little man is a bit shy in crowds...Anywho.  I put together this video from last night's performance.  I hope you enjoy it. (fair warning: it is almost 10 minutes long, and during the first song it gets a little loud)
The little girl in the blue flower sundress and yellow sweater was a hoot!  You can hear her many times above all the other kiddos :)

Here are a few photos from the evening as well...

A self-portrait before heading to the school
Waiting for the first song to begin
Looking through the books with his friends
Showing off his memory book and certificate
Of course, Little Miss had to have a picture as well
Until next time...enjoy your summer vacation!

My First Homemade Card...

I had a nice little surprise today when I picked Dallas up from preschool...

Yep, my first homemade Mother's Day card from my little man, and a cute little flower to boot!  Now, Dallas did inform me that one of the blooms is for Reba and the other bloom is for me, so I guess it have to share the flower. :)

I can't believe that Dallas has only one day left of preschool!  Tuesday is his last day - then, it's summer vacation!  Even though this weather has made it seem like summer for the last couple weeks...

Finally, sorry for my lack of blogging lately, I really have no good excuse.  I promise I will try to do better.

Until next time...
