Going Home!

This morning we learned that we were still on track to go home today, but it wouldn't be until the afternoon.  The state of Indiana requires a blood draw for newborns to be done at two days (48 hours) old...and not a minute earlier.  That being said, it would be after 2:14 p.m. that we would be released.  Luckily, the nurses and doctors all made their rounds early, and the release papers were put together by noon.  Therefore, we were free to go as soon as the blood draw was completed!

Ma-maw once again brought the older kiddos to the hospital, and Dallas was quick to ask to hold Julianne.
Not only did Ma-maw come today, but she surprised us with Pa-paw!
and Aunt Lisa!
The hospital also gave us a congratulations present to take home...
Dallas and Reba then agreed to help dress Julianne to go home

Dressed and ready to go

Fitting the carseat straps to fit a tiny baby (she had dropped to 7 lb 3 oz)
On the way home, 2 out of the 3 kiddos fell asleep...
Yep, Julianne pretty much cried the entire ride home, while Dallas and Reba slept.  Of course, those two had been two days with no naps...makes a difference.

Until next time...

The Oliver has Arrived!

We ended 2011 on a great note...we were pleasantly surprised on New Year's Eve when my parents and family friend pulled in the driveway with the Oliver and wagon!

The kiddos were pretty excited as well!
We were finally able to get the tractor started on Monday morning (after a day and a half on the charger - the battery was beyond dead; therefore, we had to do the ole pull start method).  We all climbed on for a trip around the yard, but everyone got cold quickly so we kept the ride very short.  Needless to say, everyone is ready for the temps to warm up so we can get the Oliver out again.  Thank goodness winters are a lot shorter here than they were in Iowa!

Big Brother Meets Baby Sister

We made it home from the hospital yesterday! Here is a short video of Dallas meeting Reba for the very first time. Dallas did such a great job of being gentle and nice. He has quickly learned who Reba is when we say her name. Let's hope he continues to be this excited about his little sister.

Here is Miss Reba dressed and waiting for Mama and Daddy to get finished packing to go home.
We had to do some major readjusting on the straps of the carseat. They were still set for Dallas when he was just under a year old!

Home for a Day

Doug, Dallas, the Boys, and I made it home yesterday afternoon. It was wonderful to sleep in our own bed again. Dallas was thrilled to be back with his toys, and the Boys were very excited to sleep in their chairs again! We are home all day today, and then we are leaving for St. Louis tomorrow afternoon. Doug has to go for work, and Dallas and I are going to visit friends. I will try to get some pictures up before we head out...notice...key word: try.

Until next time...

We're Home!

Hello All!

I'm sorry it has been a while since my last update. As my Mom had commented, our computer did crash during our stay at the hospital. No...we haven't had a chance to get it looked at/fixed. I'm using Doug's work computer, and I haven't figured out how to upload pictures from our camera.

Anywho...the good news. We did get released from the hospital yesterday morning. Dallas had his last antibiotic shot at 6 in the morning. Dr. Skopec did her last check over him around 7:30, and we were able to get all of our stuff loaded up by a little after 10! We hadn't quite realized how much *crap* we had accumulated at the hospital during our stay!!!

We are pleased to say that they boys did an OK job of accepting Dallas. Charlie just wanted to continually smell and lick Dallas! Fred was interested at first, and then decided it was no big deal and left Dallas alone after that. Dallas slept fairly well through the night. We went to bed around 9 last night, Dallas woke up around mid-night, 3:00, and 6:30. After eating at 6:30, he was wide awake until 9:30 or so! He is now sleeping soundly.

Until next time...
