Fun Friday Fotos - Dirt Track Races

Over the Memorial Day weekend, Doug and I took the kiddos to the dirt track in Haubstadt for a little bit of fun!  You might remember us going last summer.  Anywho...I didn't take my camera for fear of dropping it through the bleachers, so the photos came from my phone...

Needless to say, everyone had a great time, and Dallas drank 3 pops (a Mt. Dew, a Cherry Coke, and a Ski) while we were there!  He was wired the entire time.

Until next time...

This is only the second year for our strawberries, but they sure have done well!

This was the first night we picked...
We all enjoyed a bowl of ice cream and berries that night
The next night we enjoyed a strawberry pie
Then, after the next pickin', I made 15 jars of strawberry jam.
And after the third pickin', I made 9 jars of strawberry-rhubarb jam and froze about a gallon-sized bag of berries to use in pies later!

Until next time...

T-Ball Game #4

Dallas had his 4th game on May 19th.  It was a make up game for one that had been rained out at the beginning of the month.  Unfortunately, Daddy had to go plant that afternoon and wasn't able to attend.  It was rather hot that afternoon, so we opted for shorts for this game.  I reminded Dallas multiple times not to slide into home plate!

The kiddos only advance one base at a time unless it's the last batter on the team, then they continue all the way around.  It's often hard for the kiddos to remember when to stop and when to go, but I loved this running one of Dallas - even if he had to go back to second base :)
While waiting on second, he had to switch batting helmets (we were a few short that night, they were rotating).  The "new" one was a bit small...
Rounding third for home (and, yes, he remembered to not slide!)
Dallas was once again able to play defense up by the pitching machine, and he was able to field a couple hits.
Until next time...

T-Ball Game #3

Not only was Daddy finally able to make it to a t-ball game on May 18, but Pa, Gram and Aunt Josie were also able to make it.

Dallas patiently waiting his turn to bat
Hey Batter, Batter! (still waiting to get his first hit off the machine in a game)
While Dallas was waiting to run to third base, he decided to kick the dirt off second base.  Only problem was that the little guy covering second base kept putting more dirt on the bag!
Rounding third base!
Dallas played a little defense close to the pitching machine.  This was a great place for him because he was able to stay focused on the batter...
and he was able to field a couple balls!
Until next time...

Dallas' PreK Program

I'm so glad I finally figured out how to upload my videos again because you are not going to want to miss this!

Doug and I were so incredibly proud of Dallas and his performance at his program this year.  You might remember last year, he barely sang and did not do a single movement.  What a difference a year makes!  Enjoy...(oh, and like last year - warning: the video is almost 10 minutes in length, and it get a little loud in the first song)

Here are a few pictures I was able to capture as well

This was after the kiddos had walked in and Dallas first spotted Daddy, Momma, and Reba.
Waiting for his other friends to get their animals for the song
Sitting still and waiting for his name to be called
Dallas, Daddy and Reba at the end of the program
Gotta get one with Momma too

Pool Party

I think it was around Easter time that Reba started asking about getting the pool out so she could swim.  That girl is such a fish, she thinks if the sun is out (no matter the actual temp), she should swim!

Finally on the 15th of the month, I gave in.  Reba helped me fill the pool one morning while Dallas was at school.
We let the water warm up all afternoon, and after naps, the kiddos jumped in!

They have since been in a few more times.  I'm sure we will get lots of good out of the pool this summer!

Until next time...

T-Ball Game 2

Dallas had his second t-ball game on May 13th; it was a little chillier that day so Dallas thought he needed long sleeves
Dallas is getting much better at remembering how to stand at the plate (still no hit off the pitching machine)
Waiting to run from second base
Playing a little defense

Fun Friday Fotos

After we ended our kite flying, Daddy went back to mowing the yard, and the kiddos played in the tall grass behind the barn.

They laughed and laughed and laughed!
A quick picture after church on Mother's Day
Last year, we planted 2 peach trees and an apple tree.  Last month (mid-April), the peach trees were full of blooms!
Then, one day last week, I noticed all the little peaches!  It will be interesting to see how well they ripen.
Until next time...

Video Time!

You might remember a while back I tried posting a video of Dallas and Daddy having hitting practice in preparation of an upcoming T-ball game.  Well...I finally figured out how to get videos to connect to my blog posts again!  So, without further ado...

Until next time...

Last Day of PreK

Today was Dallas' last day of PreK.  Here is my big guy before heading off to school...
and just for fun...remember his first day of PreK?
or how about his first day of Preschool?
Last night was Dallas' "End of Year" program.  You'll have to wait until next week to see those pictures!

Until next time...

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

When I cleaned out Lily the other day, I came across some kites that, I believe, Aunt Katie gave to the kiddos a few years ago.  On Saturday afternoon before Mother's Day, there was a perfect breeze to fly the kites!
Reba had the Barbie kite...

and Dallas had the Lightening McQueen one

It was a lot of fun until Momma crashed Reba's kite into the tree...thankfully, with a little teamwork, we were able to get it out.

Until next time...

Dallas' Spring Field Trip

On May 10th, Dallas' PreK class took a field trip to Pump It Up.  Dallas was sweet enough to ask me to come along for this trip.

Dallas was super excited about riding the school bus!  On the way to school that morning, he asked if I would sit with him, but once he got on the bus, he chose to sit with his friends Eli and Spencer.
Dallas' class was the only group at the arenas that morning, so the 14 kiddos had plenty of chances to play on each and every inflatable.
There were a few new inflatables - such as the basketball hoops
the batting "cage"
the air cannons

and the Hooleyball
Here are other random photos from our morning...
