Thanksgiving Weekend

Doug and I did something different this year for Thanksgiving Day.  He and Dallas went to be with Gram's family, while the girls and I went to be with Pa-paw's family.  We each had a wonderful time with great food and excellent company, but we decided we didn't like being apart on the holiday.

Before everyone parted ways at the Robertson gathering, I was able to capture this picture of the little girls that were in attendance (L-R: Julianne {almost 1}, Bria {21 months}, Grace {4 years}, and Reba {5 years})
While staying at Ma-maw's, Julianne found the Tupperware cabinet
And Dallas found the scotch tape
Reba was also able to continue her birthday celebration.  Since Aunt Katie and Uncle Brian weren't able to make it to her party the weekend before, they brought her gifts with them.

She's a Bronc Rider!

Remember how Reba typically backs out of riding the mechanical bull at the NAILE?  I figured out today why that is.  I was at the mall getting the tires rotated on my van (you know the mall that has Sears and not much else - like the Commons in Columbus).  Anywho...Reba loves to play on the quarter ride machines while we wait - pretending the entire time, I don't put any money in them.  Today, she loved the horse, and it hit me!  She wants to be a bronc rider, not a bull rider!

Birthday Interview

I was able to get Reba to sit down long enough to ask her a few questions about her favorite things at 5 years old.  (Honestly, she was the one to remind me that we needed to do it!)  She never ceases to surprise me with some of her answers...

Happy Birthday Reba!

Happy 5th Birthday to our spunky, sassy, intelligent, loving, thoughtful, and silly girl!
Reba doesn't go for her 5 year check-up and kindergarten shots until the end of December, so I'm not quite sure of what her stats are at this point.  I'll update them at a later time.

In honor of her birthday, the kiddos get a day off of school!  Yep, we got enough snow through the night that schools were canceled.

It was rather nice outside, so Dallas and Reba bundled up and went out to play!
They love to use the garden hoe and "move" the snow for us.
They also like to "dig" tunnels with their hands

Our cats didn't know what to think

Bull Ride 2014

Today we made our annual trip to the North American Livestock show (NAILE).  Dallas was very excited and eager to find the mechanical bull and test out his skills.

Reba was all about riding the bull when we arrived at the show, but once we made our way to the bull, she sang a different tune.  Maybe next year.

Reba's 5th Birthday

Today, we were able to gather with family to celebrate Little Miss turning 5!  She is a very loved young lady, that's for sure.  Enjoy some of the photos from her day.

Reba patiently waiting to open her presents

Reba was even kind enough to let Dallas *help* open a gift (or two)
Then, Sugar got in on the action and opened a card (or two)

Hmmm...I think we might have a present thief

Later in the evening, Reba opened the pattern block set and asked Pa-paw to help her build.  Dallas was happy to join in and help, too.

Birthday Party Prepping

Reba and I have been busy getting ready for her upcoming 5th Birthday!  I can't believe she is almost a hand-full...whom am I kidding?  She's been a handful for quite a while.

Reba loves Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, so it only seemed fitting to center her party around Daniel.  After searching, Pintrest for ideas, we decided to make Tiger-tails for her class birthday snacks.

We were also finally able to agree on a cake design
I think she loves it!

Pig Tails

Julianne sported her first set of pig tails today!
It took a lot of water to get her hair slicked back,
I think we will try just the upper part of her hair next time, the back is still rather short from where she rubbed it off as an infant.

Until next time...

Hey, Hey, We're the Monkeys...

I took the kiddos to the New Harmony park today.  They were both bound and determined to conquer the monkey bars tonight.  I'm proud to say, they were both successful!

Clearance Fun

I will be the first to admit, I love to shop a couple days after a holiday and grab up on the clearance fun!  Today, while at Wal-Mart, they had Halloween marked down 75%, and Target had their things 90% off.  I not only found crafts/projects to do with the kiddos, but I was able to buy all of them costumes for next year. Yes, they will even get a choice...I got 2 for each of them!  OK...back to our project for today - pumpkin shaped rice krispies.

They concentrated and worked so hard on their designs.

And, they were pretty proud of the end results!
