In the words of Dallas, "Man! The chickens sure are growin'!"
Doug and I clipped their wings last week so they wouldn't fly out of the new outside pen we made them. As a result of this, Dallas is able to catch them a lot easier now!
Here's the new area we made for them behind the barn.
Until next time...

Farm Expansion
We have once again expanded our farming operation...
Here is our newest addition - 6 ducks!
We did some rearranging in the barn so they could have room to grow and a place to swim
Such happy little ducks taking a happy little dip in the pool

Random Pictures...
The other weekend, the kiddos got to spend a couple nights with Gram and Pa. Dallas looked so innocent as he took his nap on the way to meet Gram
It was also the first day Reba wore a French Braid! I was pretty proud of myself as it was one of the first ever Fr. braids I've done, and Little Miss didn't want to sit so still.
Like I have said before, she is a ham for the camera!

Fun Friday Fotos - Flowers
The flowers around the house are blooming quite nicely. We didn't get to enjoy all of them last year because we hadn't moved in at this point! (hard to believe we are coming up on our 1st anniversary in this home) Anywho...The kiddos wanted to get in a few of the shots - and they wanted the dogs in too.
Fred didn't want to stand still...
Charlie on the other hand is a ham for the camera!
...and so is Little Miss
I absolutely LOVE these lilies...
The flower bed in front of the house
My rain lily bloomed yesterday morning!
I have had this little lamb for almost as long as Doug and I have been married, and this is the first time I have put flowers in it! (It used to sit in my living room in Iowa, and held small toys that the kiddos would stick in there)
My clematis on the corner of the fence...I just ordered some red clem to go in another spot along the fence! I can hardly wait for it to come!!!

Another Mother's Day Present
The week before Mother's Day, my men were hard at work building me a present...
A wonderful new clothes line!!!
I have been missing my old one ever since we left Iowa, and let me tell you...I'm loving having the real outdoor/fresh air scent on my clothes, bed sheets, and towels. Missy, I know you share in my enthusiasm!
We cemented the poles in the ground; therefore, we had to imprint the kiddos hands!
Dallas' right hand
Reba's right hand (I didn't get a photo of her putting her hand in because it took all we had to get her hand in the wet cement!)

Preschool Program
Last night was Dallas' end of year preschool program. His teacher had told me that she was doing her best to encourage Dallas to participate, but was having a little trouble. We all know how my little man is a bit shy in crowds...Anywho. I put together this video from last night's performance. I hope you enjoy it. (fair warning: it is almost 10 minutes long, and during the first song it gets a little loud)
Here are a few photos from the evening as well...
A self-portrait before heading to the school
Waiting for the first song to begin
Looking through the books with his friends
Showing off his memory book and certificateOf course, Little Miss had to have a picture as well
Until next time...enjoy your summer vacation!

Yumm-O
On Friday morning my friend Carla called and invited the kiddos and I to join her and her girls at the local strawberry patch.
It's hard to believe that the strawberry season is almost over - and it's barely the middle of May! (It's typically just starting at this time) But the berries were red and juicy and sweet - and we were able to come home with 8+ pounds!
Dallas helped me in the kitchen that afternoon. He smashed the strawberries as we prepared to make 12 jars of jam.
I also made a pie...
And the rest we ate straight from the container!
Until next time...I'll be watching my own patch grow

Happy Mother's Day
I had an absolutely wonderful and perfect Mother's Day! I was greeted this morning with a card, smiles, hugs, kisses and happy wishes from these two beautiful kiddos
Until next time...
We then headed to church, and afterwards, because the kiddos did good during Mass, we headed to Tractor Supply and Rural King! We then spent the rest of the day at home working out in the garden and relaxing.
Earlier in the week, I was greeted with these gorgeous flowers (gerber daisies, my favorite!) as an early Mother's Day gift.
I hope all the other Moms, Mommas, Mommies, Ma-maws, Grams, Grandmas, Grannies, Great Grandmas, Aunts, and Godmothers had as great of a day as I did.Until next time...

My First Homemade Card...
I had a nice little surprise today when I picked Dallas up from preschool...
Yep, my first homemade Mother's Day card from my little man, and a cute little flower to boot! Now, Dallas did inform me that one of the blooms is for Reba and the other bloom is for me, so I guess it have to share the flower. :)
I can't believe that Dallas has only one day left of preschool! Tuesday is his last day - then, it's summer vacation! Even though this weather has made it seem like summer for the last couple weeks...
Finally, sorry for my lack of blogging lately, I really have no good excuse. I promise I will try to do better.
Until next time...
