Wonderful Wednesday

When I dropped Dallas off for Kindergarten this morning, both the principal and his teacher told me that the big guy's drawing made the diocese's twitter account yesterday!

The superintendent was at St. Wendel yesterday, and after he snapped the photo, he tweeted it out!  In case you can't read what he said, it states, "A great self portrait from a preschool student."

I'll forgive him for calling Dallas a preschooler and not a Kindergartner.

Preschool 2013

That's right...Little Miss started preschool this morning!

She was able to see Daddy before he left for work, and was all excited about going to school and meeting new friends.

She let me know she was done with pictures by sticking her tongue out at me...

When we got to school, she was still doing great.  She talked to her teacher a little, and I gave her one last hug and said I would be back in a few hours.  That's when the tears started streaming down her little face.  And in a complete turn of events from yesterday, Momma didn't shed any tears!

How crazy is that?
Dallas - no tears; Momma - crying fool.
Reba - crocodile tears; Momma - no tears...

I'm sure she was fine within minutes of me leaving, and I'm sure she will be full of stories when she comes home.

Kindergarten 2013

Dallas started Kindergarten this morning...

He was very excited!

...until Momma kept taking more and more pictures.

This week, Dallas goes to school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Next week, he will go every day.  The teacher splits the class in half for the first week (the other group goes on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), in order to help the students learn the new routine better.  She is able to give them more attention this way.  Dallas did excellent as he walked into his class, found his cubbie, and then found his seat.  Momma, on the other hand, cried her eyes out as I walked back to the van.  I'm blaming it on the pregnancy hormones.  I did not cry that much when I dropped him off for his first day of preschool or preK!
