(Another) Dallas Update

Thank you to everyone that added Dallas and us to your prayers. We know God is listening because Dallas is improving by leaps and bounds. After is check-up with the doctor this morning, they decided that he could go off the heart monitor and be removed from the IV. That leaves the oxygen monitor as the only thing he is hooked to, but it is now portable and he is able to be in the room with us!!!

As far as the IV goes, he will be off for the next 24 hours to give his tiny hand a break. They thought this best because he will eventually have to be back on the IV to receive his antibiotics. For today, though, they are just going to give him the antibiotics through an injection in the leg. Also, because his eating habits are increasing he doesn't need the nutrition of the IV.

The antibiotics he is currently on need to be given for 7 days. Therefore, we are here at the hospital until Thursday/Friday at the earliest. We are still waiting to hear results on the blood cultures and the spinal fluid cultures. If they come back with as being positive for infections, we will be here longer. As of this morning, nothing was showing up on them, but it is still early.

Sorry there are no new pictures but we are having a little trouble with our camera connecting. Until next time.

Doug and Rajean,

Congratulations on little Dallas. He sure is a cutie. I hope he continues to get better.

My nephew had the same thing where he had to stay in the hospital for 10 days for an infection when he was born. You feel so sorry for the poor little guys.

Keep us updated. We will continue to pray for all of you.

Thanks for the update and we're glad to hear he's improving. Are they giving him antibiotics as a precaution or have they determined it's some type of infection?
You just hold him as much as you can because mom's arms are the best place to be!
You're in our thoughts and prayers.

Rajean, you, Doug and especially Dallas are in our prayers. What a hard thing to have to go through right after the little bugger finally decided to show up! We're sure things will continue to look up, but will surely keep you in our prayers! Hang in there Mom! Enjoy every minute, because they change so much! Someone told me, take a picture a day, and in the first week you will see a crazy difference! Enjoy him!
