Aunt Lisa has been asking us for the past 3 summers to join her when she takes the Jr. Leaders on their achievement trip to Holiday World. It hasn't worked well in our schedule before, but this year it did. Of course, it had to be one of the hottest days of the summer, but we still had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, Daddy wasn't able to join us, but I'm sure we will be visiting again because the kiddos loved it!

Dallas and Reba then made their way to this Santa Sleigh, while Julianne went back to the carousel.
Then, Dallas wanted back on the drop ride. He rode 3 times in a row before I made him take a break!
It was really warming up at that point, so Aunt Lisa thought they needed to ride something that included water. Julianne was too small, so we found a place to rest and get a drink while waiting on the others to pass on the raft.
They rode twice because Dallas didn't get wet the first time, but he got soaked the second time! We then changed into swimsuits, grabbed a pizza for lunch, and made our way to the waterpark. Julianne and I stayed in the splash pad area while Aunt Lisa and another chaperone, Jeff, took the older two on some water-coasters. It wasn't too long before Sugar crashed from the fun and sun.
About an hour later, Dallas, Reba, Aunt Lisa, and Jeff returned to play in the splash pad area.

It was getting close to time for the Jr. Leaders to meet up to head home, so we made our way to the front of the park. Then, the rain cut loose! So, it seemed like a good time to take my group home too.
Last week was the Posey County Fair! Dallas has been asking a lot lately about going to a tractor pull, so we were happy when we were able to take him and Reba to the pulls Saturday night. Dallas kept wondering if there would be an Allis Chalmers in the pull (he had seen one at the Shelby County Fair while on his stay-cation with Pa and Gram). Lucky for us...there was one at Posey County to cheer for!
After the pulls finished, we decided to take a walk up to the rest of the fair. Mind you, this was the last night of the fair, so the animals were already gone. There were a few booths selling food, and of course, the "mid-way" was still in action. Reba wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel, so she batted her eyes at her Daddy and what do you know...he bought tickets!

You can't go to the fair without taking in some fair food - Dallas loved the powder sugar from the funnel cake!
First off, we want to wish both GG and Aunt Katie "Happy Birthday!" We hope you enjoy your day. We love you and miss you very much.
After "much" research and debating, we decided to stay at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park - and we are glad to say that we were not disappointed with our choice.
The hotel/park has an outdoor theme park, an outdoor water park, an indoor theme park, and an indoor water park. And it was all included with our stay! We could visit the parks at any time and stay how ever little or long we wanted. We loved this because when you visit a theme/water park such as Kings Island or Holiday World, you spend the entire day there to make it worth the cost of the ticket. That wasn't so with our trip. Almost every day, we would "sight see" in the mornings and then wait until the last 2-3 hours the park was open to go enjoy the rides. The lines were super short (great for the kiddos) because of this, and we were able to do so much more! Ok...enough of my sales pitch...pictures.
At the outdoor theme park, there were 4 wooden roller coasters and 8 go kart tracks! While we did ride the coasters a few times, most of our time was spent on the go karts. The kiddos LOVED them. They weren't big enough to drive, but there were these great buddy seats that allowed them to have just as much fun. The kiddos would continually switch up who the rode with which made it even more fun for everyone.

One time in particular, Doug and I had chose to ride a coaster instead of the go karts. As we came off the coaster, the group was getting set to go racing. I was able to get this picture on my phone of them racing! Let's just say it was not always "clean" racing.

The kiddos really did great on vacation. Most days they went without an actual nap. More than once, Reba took her nap while waiting in line for the go karts! One time, she actually slept through the entire race.

Since I'm talking about the theme park, I'll go ahead and add these few pictures of the only "ride" the kiddos went on...the swings!

Daddy was a real champ and went on one of the "circle" rides with Dallas (Pa-paw went one time with D as well.) Pa-paw and Daddy don't handle the rides that go around and around very well
