Week 37 and Baby Poll

Holy Moly!  We are almost to the end of this pregnancy...here is what I'm looking like these days.
When people ask how I'm getting along, my typical response is that I'm "hanging in there."  I don't feel bad, but I don't feel great.  The baby has really slowed down on its movement in the last week, and I have slowed down as well!  I am having contractions here and there, and I'm having quite a bit of back pain.  I'm also experiencing pain/pressure in my upper inner thighs (sorry if that's too much info), but I don't remember this same pain/pressure with the other pregnancies.  I started feeling this particular pain while at the Kentucky Fair, but then it went away after 2-3 days.  Then, other day my foot slipped out from under me when I stepped on the garage floor with a somewhat wet shoe.  I didn't do the splits, but it was the start of them.  I was able to catch myself, but it definitely flared up this pain again.

Last week, at my check-up, I saw the Nurse Practitioner, Ashley, because Dr. Alvey was on vacation.  Ashley did the Strep Group B test (and I found out today that it came back negative).  She also checked my progress, and said that my cervix was beginning to soften, but she would not call it dilated to a 1.  She also made no mention of effacement.

Today, I had my weekly check up with Dr. Alvey.  She checked me and said that I was dilated to a 1 or 1.5, and that I was 60% effaced.  She also brought up the topic of induction, and how I felt about it.  I said that we (Doug and I) have no objections to being induced...seeing as the first 3 all came that way!  Dr. Alvey did say that she can't induce labor before 39 weeks, so we still have 2 weeks before we can consider that route.

Lastly, while Dr. Alvey was checking the heartbeat of the baby, it was rather fast.  It was up around and above 180 beats/min.  Typically the baby's heart rate has been around 150.  Dr. Alvey listened for a bit longer, and it didn't really slow down.  She ordered for me to have a non-stress test where I was hooked up to a monitor for about 20 minutes to record the heart rate and movement.  During that time, the baby's heart rate had returned to normal.  The monitor even showed I had a contraction during the test!

I did feel like I was on Jeopardy, because I had this cool little button to push each time I felt the baby move.
Alright...So, enough of that...

I did dig out a particular shirt this morning for my 37 week picture!  I had to wear it to give you all a good comparison of each pregnancy.
With that...I'm going to open up the Baby Poll!

Here's how you play...

1) Click on the comment link at the end of this post
2) Take a guess at what day Number 4 will arrive
3) Take a guess at what
Number 4's length will be
4) Take a guess at what
Number 4's weight will be
5) Finally, take a guess if
Number 4 is a boy or girl!

Make sure to leave your name, especially if you don't have a blog log in name.

Here's how you can play if you don't have a log in: Leave your guesses, and then select the "button" for either -Name/URL or -Anonymous.

If you choose -Name/URL, then just type your name in the name box...You can leave the URL box blank.

Here are some helpful tips when thinking of your guesses. My due date is Oct. 7, and this has changed.  I originally thought I was due at the end of October.  With Julianne, my due date was Dec. 5, and did not changed during the pregnancy.  She was born on Dec. 6th - by induction.  Julianne weighed 7 lb 12 oz and was 21 in long.  With Reba, my due date was Nov. 19th and did not changed during the pregnancy. She was born on Nov. 17th - by induction.  Reba weighed 7 lb 4 oz and was 20 in long.  With Dallas my due date was originally March 24th, then it was moved to March 4th. Dallas arrived March 11th - by induction. Dallas weighed 8 lb 8 oz and was 21.5 in long.

Until next time...

Happy 33rd Birthday (to me)!

What a day!  I got up early in hopes of getting a hair cut before my baby doctor appointment.  Only, as I was getting ready to leave, I found out I had left my wallet in the van last night.  Doug took the van today, so I could take the truck to have the tires rotated.  Thankfully, I had enough time to run up to Doug's work to get my wallet and get to the salon when it opened (one of those walk-in only places).  I ended up getting about 2 inches cut off the overall length, and I had the gal add layers - which has really brought out the waves/curls in my hair!
As far as the baby check-up, yesterday marked week 30 for baby number 4!  Everything continues to be on track, and baby is as active as ever!  I'm sure I am going to be exhausted next week after these sheep shows and garden work I've been up to this week.

After the baby check-up, I headed over to Sears to get the truck tires rotated.  Unfortunately, they were not able to complete the task because the stock racks were in the bed.  I had specifically asked when I made the appointment if it would be a problem.  The gentleman told me as long as they fit through the 10 ft door, they could do it.  Apparently that wasn't true.  The racks did fit through the door, but they did not allow the truck to be lifted high enough.  Oh, well...

After leaving Sears, I made 4 different stops to gather all the back-to-school supplies.  I ended my errands by stopping to get the sheep feed.  Doug then took me out for supper.  All in all, it was another great birthday!

Until next time...

10 years and 22 weeks

Happy 10th Anniversary to us!

Summer 2014
Can you believe it's been 10 years since Doug and I stood in front of God, family and friends pledging to love one another for the rest of our lives? We have been so blessed on this journey, and I can't wait to see what the next 10, 20, even 50 years have in store for us!

Now, as for the 22 weeks...that's how far I am in this pregnancy!  I am completely slacking in the belly photos this go around, but that's what happens with each child.  Less and less photos...right?

I did go for another ultrasound today.  The tech was unable to take the anatomy measurements (head circumference, belly size, liver, femur length, etc) at the last appointment, so I had to go back.  I was able to take the kiddos again, but the tech this time around wasn't as sociable.  I don't think the kiddos enjoyed it as much, and we didn't come home with that great of pictures.  Here were the two best ones...

Everything still measured on track for a due date of Oct 7, so no surprises this visit!  We once again chose not to find out the sex of the baby.  Dallas and Reba voiced a few times that they would like to know, and Doug even considered finding out.  Momma got the final vote, and I said, "Nope.  Surprise."  Dallas and Reba are both hoping for a brother, and I think that is what Daddy is wishing for too.  We shall see come October!

Until next time...

Julianne - 2 months

Way back on February 6th, our baby girl turned 2 months old!  I took her to the doctor for her check-up and first round of immunizations.  But first, look at how much she has changed in just a short month's time...

Our baby girl is now weighing in at 13 lbs 8.5 oz (70th percentile) and has grown 2.75 inches since birth.  That makes her "standing" tall at 23.75 inches (85th percentile).  Her brain is developing quite well too, as it has reached a circumference of 15.75 inches (84th percentile)!

Here is a list of what I can remember Julianne doing at the 2 month mark:
Sat in the Bumbo chair for the first time

Lots of smiles!
Wiggles constantly
Julianne is still swaddled at night because she wiggles so much that she hits herself and wakes up!
Sleeps from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. consistently
Starting to drool
Beginning to coo
Gave up the bedtime bottle because the bowel movements became more regular
Rolled from belly to back on two different days (2 times each day)

Still wearing size 1 diapers
Still wearing 0-3 month clothes

And, as I mentioned at the beginning of the post, Julianne got her first big round of immunizations.  She had one oral vaccine and 3 injections.  It seemed that she spit out about half of the oral vaccine, and she SCREAMED when she got the shots.  If you have been around her much, you know that she doesn't really cry much; therefore, I think that was the most noise I have heard come her little self!  By the time I got her dressed and walked to the check out station, Julianne was all smiles again.
She was then asleep before I pulled out of the parking lot, and she slept a good part of the day.  After she finished eating at 4 yesterday afternoon, she was quite grumpy, so I gave her a little Tylenol.  That helped a lot, and it gave Momma some extra cuddle time.
Until next time...

Julianne - 1 month

Julianne went for her one month check up on 20th of January.  She is definitely growing!

Here are her stats:
Weight: 10 lbs 8 oz (67th percentile)
Height: 22 inches (68th percentile)
Head Circumference: 36 cm (18th percentile)

Some things that Julianne was doing at one month include (but not limited to):
Beginning to smile
Wearing size 1 diapers
Wearing 0-3 month clothes (onesies are getting short, but pants are plenty long)
Rubbing bare spots in her hair
Rolled from belly to back two different days
Sleeping from 10 pm to 5 am consistently
During the day, Julianne will be awake for 45 min-1 hour and then sleep 1-2 hours
Nursing every 2.5 to 3 hours
Taking about 3 oz of pumped milk at bedtime to help with bowel movements
Been to the doctor once for fever and stuffy nose
Starting to spit up more often
Baby acne has shown up

That's all I can remember at this point.

Until next time...

Week 40

I had another doctor appoint this morning for Baby B#3.  Doug is off work for the remainder of the year (he had some stocked up vacation days), so he was able to go with me!  My weight was the same, my blood pressure was normal, baby's heart rate was normal, but I had progressed from 2 cm to 3 cm!  Therefore, my doctor gave us the option to come in tomorrow morning and break my water to have this baby!

Here's one last photo before Baby B arrives...

Once Doug and I left the doctor's office, we stopped by the furniture store in hopes that the bunk beds (that we ordered on Nov 2) had arrived, but they have not.  We then swung by the grocery store to grab some food before the snow storm hits.

Until next time...

Fun Friday Flick

I was finally able to get Reba to sit still long enough to answer some questions about her favorite things.  Enjoy the video!
I would have answered a few of the questions differently had I just filled out what Little Miss' favorites things were.  For instance...
Favorite Toy: Her baby dolls
Favorite Lunch: Ham "Samwich"
Favorite Thing to Wear: Necklaces and/or Earrings
Favorite Game: Memory Cards or Hide and Seek
Favorite Animal: Giraffe or Zebra or Cats
Favorite Song: Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker
Favorite Supper: Spaghetti and Meatballs
Favorite Thing to do Outside: Swing
Favorite Thing to do Inside: Color or Play-doh
Favorite Thing at School: Painting with her hands

I took her this morning for her 4-year-old check up.  Here is how our little girl measures up...
Height: 37.5 inches (this is up 2 inches from a year ago); 10th percentile
Weight: 33 lbs (this is up 3 lbs from a year ago); 33rd percentile

Overall, our Little Miss may be petite in size, but she is excelling in her developmental abilities.  Some of the questions Dr. Alex asked included:
Does she sleep well? Yes
Does she eat well and a variety of foods? Yes
Can she pedal a tricycle? Yes - and fast!
Is she potty trained? Yes - for 2 years now
Can she dress herself? Yes - he must not know how independent Little Miss is...
Can she draw a circle? Yes
Can she make a fist? Yes
Can she name at least two of her friends? Yes - remember she named 4 of them in her video interview!
Can she wash her hands? Yes
Can she brush her teeth? Yes
Can she play simple board games (i.e. Candyland)? Yes
Can she sing the alphabet? Yes and write the letters in her name
Can she count to 10? Yes and beyond
Can she trace lines? Yes
Does she know colors? Yes
Does she know basic shapes? Yes
Does she know at least two adjectives? Yes
Can she stack blocks? Yes
Can she hop on one foot? Yes

Until next time...

Week 38

With my recent neglecting of the blog, I missed last week's Baby B update.  Here is my bump photo from week 37...
I also have a comparison to each pregnancy from week 37...
L-R: Dallas (Buckwheat), Reba (Gertie), and Baby B#3
If you remember, I mentioned I would have another ultrasound during my appointment last week.  Doug was able to get off work, and we took the kiddos along too so they could see the baby once again.  This was the first time that I had an ultrasound at this stage in the pregnancy.  Both Doug and I thought we would be able to see the baby really well and that the kiddos would be able to see.  We were a little wrong though.  Because the baby is "larger", it didn't all fit in the ultrasound picture.  Therefore, we were really only able to see "parts" at a time; such as the belly/torso area or the head.  We did see the heart beating clearly, and we were also able to hear the heartbeat.  I think the heart rate was around 138.  The tech tried her hardest to get a picture of the baby's face, but with the baby being head down and facing my back, she couldn't get the wand in the right position.  Plus, the baby had its hand over its face!

Here are the two photos we came home with...
One of the face (I know it doesn't look much like a face; remember Baby had its balled up fist over its face)
Baby toes and the ball of its foot

The main reason for the ultrasound was to take some measurements.  The tech estimated the baby to be at 7 lbs 3 oz (the size Reba was when she was born!).  She also measured the torso and the head, and found them both to be in the "normal range" for my stage of pregnancy.

As far as my weekly appointment with the doctor, it went great.  I was up a total of 17 pounds since the start of the pregnancy, and my blood pressure was once again normal.  At week 36, I was tested for Group B Strep infection.  The results came back negative - if you are keeping track of those results, I was negative during my pregnancy with Dallas and positive with Reba.  Also, at week 36, my doctor checked me, and I was about 25% effaced and dilated to a 1.  At week 37, I had progressed to 50% effaced and dilated to a 2.

Today, I had another appointment.  It is hard to believe my due date is merely two weeks away!  My appointment was pretty routine.  Check my weight (up a half pound since last week).  Check my blood pressure (118/68).  Listen to Baby's heart beat (not sure what the rate was, this doctor never tells me).  Finally, check to see if I made any progress since last week.  I'm sad to report that I am still the same (50% effaced and 2 cm dilated).

Here is this week's photo of the bump...

The kiddos still love to feel the baby.  They find it funny that the hard bump at the top of my belly is the baby's bottom!  They also like to feel when the baby pokes out its heel, knee, or elbow.

I am still feeling well, but to be honest, I'm ready to meet this baby!  Sleep is very difficult, and yes, I realize sleep will be difficult with nursing a baby every 2-3 hours through the night.  The heart burn and indigestion is really getting annoying.  One thing I find funny at this point is that I don't have a problem eating.  I can remember getting to a point while pregnant with Dallas and Reba where I would take one bite and be full.  I'm not there yet.  I still go back for second helpings!  I'm hoping this means I can enjoy the Thanksgiving meals next week.  Lastly, I do believe Baby has "dropped" because I don't feel him/her in my ribs like I used to.

Until next time...remember to add your Baby B predictions here.

Week 36

As I mentioned if my previous post, today starts week 36!  Here's what I'm looking like these days...
Everything is going extremely well with Baby B, and my check-up this morning went well too.  I think I was only up a pound from my visit two weeks ago, and my blood pressure was back to my "normal" range (106/72).  The baby's heart rate was in the 140's, and the doctor says Baby is head down.  Today, I had the routine Group B Strep infection test done, and I will find out the results at next week's appointment.  Lastly, my doctor also scheduled me for one last ultrasound to take measurements of Baby.  That will be next week as well, so you can all look forward to "seeing" Baby again before delivery!

I continue to experience lots of heartburn/indigestion.  I don't remember having much while pregnant with Dallas, but I do remember it with Reba.  An old wives tale states that the heartburn means a head full of hair.  Well, Reba definitely had more hair than Dallas.  We'll have to wait and see what happens this go 'round.

Speaking of hair, you may have noticed in this week's photo that my hair is starting to get a wave back to it.  This happen while pregnant with Dallas, and then my hair went back straight when pregnant with Reba.  It should be interesting, that's for sure!

Until next time...

Week 32

Here we are...less than 2 months to Baby B's due date!
I'm loving the weather we have had this last week.  The temps drop down into the mid 50's at night and get up to the mid 70's during the afternoon!  We have had our windows opened all week.  I love to get curled up under the blankets and drift off to sleep.  If only it was easy to find a comfortable sleeping position these days...

Doug is almost finished harvesting at work.  His group has one more field to go, but that means he now gets to travel to other stations that are needing help.  Tuesday night, he stayed over night in Terre Haute before heading to help the Lebanon station Wednesday morning.  We (the kiddos and I) are hoping he will be home tomorrow afternoon/evening.

OK...back to Baby B.  Last Friday afternoon, I started to feel very uncomfortable while I was on my way to pick up Dallas at school (about 2:30 p.m.)  We came home, I got the kiddos a snack, turned on a PBS show, and lay down on the couch.  That did not help.  I was having this near constant stomach tightening.  I decided to try getting up and moving, so we all went outside to play with the kitties and swing.  Well, that didn't help either, plus it was pretty warm and humid that day, so after a half hour we came back inside.  I put in a movie for the kiddos and went to lay down in bed.  I did fall asleep for a short while and woke up when Doug got home around 5.  I started to get out of bed, thinking I was feeling better, and then changed my mind.  The pains were still there.  I then decided to call my doctor's office.

Of course, they were already closed for the day, so I was transferred to the after hours answering service.  I explained what was going on...lots of constant belly pain, (not coming and going like contractions), baby was still moving - which was increasing the pain, etc.  Luckily, my OB was the doctor on-call that evening, and she called me back a short while later.  She asked a couple questions, and said the best thing would be to come in and get hooked up to a monitor to check what was going on.

Thankfully, my friend Carla was able to take the kiddos while Doug and I headed to the hospital.  She also suggested I bring jammies and a change of clothes just in case they decided to keep me.  At first I thought, that's silly...but I'm glad she was thinking!  By the time we got to the hospital, the belly pains were starting to lessen, but there were moments that they would become more intense.  I was hooked  up to two different monitors - one to track Baby's heartbeat, and the other to track the contractions.  Yep, I was having contractions - at 31 weeks 1 day.  The first doctor that came in to check me, pointed at my stomach and said, "It's too early!  Stop it!"  We all laughed, if only it were that easy...

The doctor ordered blood work to check my gall bladder, liver, and something else (I can't remember).  They also checked for a urinary track infection.  Then my OB came to check on me.  The first round of tests came back normal, but as she was feeling my belly in between contractions, she found that the right side was very, very tender.  She believes I pulled a muscle, and the contractions were a reaction to it.  She also checked my cervix, and found that it was not responding to the contractions; therefore, I was not going into labor.  She still decided to start me on an IV and keep me over night.  The contractions were very irregular (5 to 10 minutes apart), and slight to moderate in intensity, but the tenderness of the muscle was causing me the most pain.

Doug left a little before 9 to go grab some food for us (we had not had supper at this point).  At first, I didn't think I was hungry, but I ended up eating all that he brought back!  Finally, around 10:30 or so, we decided to try and get some sleep.  Doug was able to get comfortable on the couch in the room, but each time I turned or moved or started to drift off to sleep, a nurse was coming in to readjust the monitor on the baby.  Somewhere between midnight and 2:30 a.m., I was actually able to get some sleep.  Then the nurse came in to check my vitals.  When I woke up, I felt 100 times better, and the nurse informed me that I had not had a contraction for about 20 minutes!  They had stopped.

By 5:30 a.m., both Doug and I were awake.  He needed some coffee, and I once again needed something to eat.  Doug was able to find the cafeteria, and brought some stuff back to the room for us.  The nurse came in around 7:30 for another blood draw and check, and my doctor came in to check on me around 8.  The blood work came back normal once again, and since the contractions had stopped and I was feeling much better, we were released.

I'm glad to say that I have not had any contractions since then, and I am feeling really good - even great.  Which is nice since Doug ended up having to leave out of town this week.  I had my two week check-up this morning, and everything looked great.  I was up a pound since my appointment two weeks ago, my blood pressure was down to 98/74, and Baby's heart rate was around 140.  I go back once again in 2 weeks.

Until next time...

Week 30

10 weeks to go until due date!

I had another baby appointment today.  If it seems like I just went, it's because I did - two weeks ago!  I'm down to every other week appointments.  Baby was very active during the appointment today, which made the heart beat sound faster. (I'm not sure what the rate was because my doctor doesn't count/measure like my OB in Iowa did)  Either way, it was nice and strong!

My blood pressure was once again normal: 108/78, and I am up a total of 10 pounds.  I went through old blog posts trying to compare to my other pregnancies; I found with Dallas, I was up about 15 pounds at this point, but I couldn't find a total weight gain with Reba at this stage.

As far as things happening with Baby:
Baby is around 16 inches long and between 2.5 and 3 pounds.
This one is up in my rib cage (right side) often - just like Dallas was!  I'm hoping this baby will turn soon unlike big brother who never did.
Finally, I have also noticed more 'knobs' poking out (i.e. elbows, knees, or heels) when Baby moves instead of general movement.

Until next time...

Week 29

Today starts week 29 for Baby B#3!  Here is the latest photo of the bump.
Today I was lucky enough to go back to the hospital to retake the glucose test.  My results from last week were slightly elevated.  The top number they like to see is 130 or 131, and mine was 137.  This was my first time taking the 3 hour test, and it wasn't as bad as I had imagined it to be.  I will admit, I was pretty hungry when I arrived (I had been fasting for almost 13 hours), and I was very hungry at the end of the 3 hours!  I also was pretty tired of all the burping that "juice" was causing me.

As of the time of this post, I do not know the results, but I will share once I know.

In other news for the week - Reba was able to feel Baby B#3 move on Monday evening.  She kept giggling each time Baby moved.  Dallas has tried a few other times, but he gets distracted too easily and loses focus of what he is to be doing!

Until next time...

Week 28

Yesterday was officially the start of week 28, but I thought I would wait to update you until today because I had a check-up for the baby this morning.  Here's the latest baby bump photo...
As I mentioned, I had a check-up this morning.  It was going to be a long check-up because today was also my glucose screen.  Reba and I arrived almost 45 minutes early so that I could drink that ever lovely "juice" and then pass the time of the hour-long wait by visiting the doctor.  In addition to the glucose screen, which includes a blood draw at the end of an hour, I received my whooping cough booster shot and my Rhogam injection (for no longer being a positive blood type).  Thankfully, none of the needle prick sites are sore as of now.  We'll see how I feel later tonight and in the morning...

As for how things are with the baby - everything seems to be going well.  Reba was able to help measure the baby and find the heartbeat this morning.  She loved being able to help beings that Dallas got to help at the last appointment.

The baby continues to move more and more each day, but the kiddos still have yet to feel any kicks.  Of course, they are not quite patient enough to sit still long enough.

I have not noticed as much swelling as of lately, but a have a spot on the back of my right leg where those wonderful varicose veins are starting to develop.  I asked the doctor about them, and she suggested compression stockings, and that I would need to wear them all the time.  Sure does not sound like fun to me...  Thankfully, they are not painful; just a little tender to the touch.

Lastly, I go see the doctor again in 2 weeks.  I can't believe we are already to the point of every other week appointments!  Time sure is going quickly...

Until next time...

Dallas' New Room

On Thursday, after one last follow-up doctors appointment for Dallas' bronchitis - that did in fact turn to pneumonia, Dallas and Reba headed up north with Pa, Gram and Aunt Josie for a few days.  While they were gone, Doug and I were busy redoing Big D's bedroom.

You might remember, his room had a sports wallpaper boarder and white walls.
I was never really thrilled with his room, and I had been wanting to do something different, but I wasn't sure what I wanted.  I knew I wanted something tractor related, and after seeing various tin signs at tractor and toy shows...I started to develop a plan.

First thing up - get the wallpaper off the walls and fill in holes
The wallpaper was a bit of a struggle at first.  I had scored the paper with a specific wallpaper removing tool, and used a combination of warm water and vinegar to help break up the adhesive backing.  That wasn't working too well, so we got out a wet rag and the clothes iron to create steam.  That took the paper off, but it also took the paint off underneath the paper!  I might add that Doug and I were doing this around midnight, so we were getting rather frustrated.  We chose to stop and get a fresh start the next morning.  We then learned that we needed to use the hottest water we could stand along with the vinegar.  That got the paper layer off, and then we reapplied the hot water mix and used a putty knife to scrap the remaining glue off the walls.
Here is what the room looked like right before painting!
We chose a slate gray for most of the walls and an antique red accent wall.
Dallas also asked for some shelves for his tractors, so his wish was granted...
The Big D had fallen asleep on the way home from my aunt's house (Christmas with the extended Robertson's), so his reaction was a bit delayed when he saw his room for the first time...

The next morning, he woke up, walked down the hallway, got a huge smile on his face and went right back into his room to play!

Until next time...

Oh, What Fun...

...it is not
Dallas has been two weeks battling bronchitis.  Three times a day he has been hooked up to the nebulizer machine.  On Monday, he was bumped up to four treatments a day.  When this first started, he was OK with sitting and doing the treatment (about 10 minutes/treatment), but he is now starting to fight us.  Luckily, he still has his appetite and high energy level, and he doesn't have a fever. It is the coughing and wheezing in his breathing that is the problem and it has not improved since being on medication.  We just keep praying that he will get better soon, and that it will not turn into pneumonia.

Until next time...

What have we been up to...

We have just been trying to survive the heat this week.  The end of last week was awesome here in Southern Indiana, the temps dropped back to the high 80's and the humidity finally fell.  This week, we are back into the 90's with ridiculous humidity.  Oh well, the kiddos are enjoying the pool!  Now for some pictures...

Remember that smirk I mentioned in yesterday's post?  I captured it today...just look at how similar they are!!!
oh, and the bunny ears...the kiddos found those while I was unpacking a box and have been wearing 'em since.

This was last Monday at Dallas' follow up for his latest double ear infection.  While waiting on Dr. Alex, Dallas asked for me to take his picture with Reba (well, not in so many words, but you get the idea)
Reba helped me clip some coupons one day (Dallas was away visiting Gram and Pa for the week)
When Dallas came home, he also brought along his new quilt.  He actually got it this past Christmas from Great Aunt Pat, but he didn't have a bed to put it on until recently.  We then let Aunt Pat borrow it so she could enter it in the county fair.  Needless to say, Dallas LOVES having his new quilt on his bed!
One morning I decided to put a headband on Reba - look at how much older she looks!
Saturday evening we headed to the Posey County Fair to see the truck and tractor pulls and to take in some more fair food!  Unfortunately for us, it was the last day of the fair and pretty much everything was gone - except this JD 730 LP.  Dallas wanted to take his picture on it to show Pa.
Reba wetting her whistle during the pulls.
We were surprised at how much the kiddos enjoyed the pulls.  They both sat on the bleachers with Doug and I and smiled and cheered the entire time!

That's all for now.  I have to go apply some make-up to be ready for my drivers license picture.  We are finally going to get them this evening...here's to hoping it turns out somewhat decent.

Until next time...

Dallas at 3

We just got home from the doctor's office for Dallas' 3 year check up!  My-oh-my ... he is getting to be a big boy!

Here are his stats...
Height: 40 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 35.4 pounds (83rd percentile)

We are going to be hearing from a speech therapist in the next week to schedule a time to meet and discuss Dallas' speech.  He is on track for the number of words and comprehension, but his clarity is lacking.

Until next time...

Reba at 15 months

Seriously...where has the time gone! I can't believe my little girl is 15 months old. I took her to the doctor on Friday for a check up, and to meet the new doctor. Dr. Alex is great - I can tell already that I'm really going to like him. Reba is weighing in at 21.8 lbs and is standing 30 inches tall. That puts her in the 34th and 37th percentiles respectively. It is sort of a shock to think of her on the small side, especially since Dallas was always on the big side! In other areas, she is excelling. Reba has about 10 words: mama, dad, book, cheese, brother, yes, no, bye-bye, baa, moo, and neigh. She loves to read books and play tea party. She also loves her tractors and cars. Reba now has 8 teeth...number 8 broke through on her actual month-birthday.

To end with, here is Reba newest look - an alfalfa sprout!

Until next time...
