St. Louis Zoo

Welcome to our trip to the zoo!
Our first stop was the butterfly garden. Dallas loved it because they would land on his stroller, but of course I wasn't fast enough with the camera!
Dallas outside the Monsanto Insectarium
Mom! Check out the fish!
The cheetah was out early enjoying the sunshine.
Dallas! Don't move...there is a snake right beside you!
Silly Mommy...it's a statue!

Bum...bum...bum!
Dallas really enjoyed the elephants
A sea-loin, sun-bathing!
How many pairs of boots do you think we can get from this guy?
Spider Monkeys
Shh...Dallas is sleeping.
The baby giraffe...he was born on Dec. 21!
Ever get that feeling that someone is standing right behind you?
Shhh...the hippos are sleeping
Note to Aunt Katie: I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippopotamus will do. Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy. I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy!

After a busy day at the zoo...
Dinner with Gema and Agustin
Too much to eat!
King Dallas!
This was actually the next morning, but it's the last our our St. Louis pics, so I added here!
Until next time...

We Made It

Well...we made it to St. Louis! Our original plans were to leave around noon, but Doug had a hearing test at the hospital this morning so he decided not to go back to work but instead come home so we could leave around 10 a.m. We were able to get packed and out the door by a quarter til 11. I think it was around 4:30 when we got to the hotel. Doug met up with the other gentleman helping with the audit, and Dallas and I chilled in the room. I was going to take him to the pool, but decided to first check it out before getting him changed. It was a good thing because there is no indoor pool! Bummer. I'm trying to be brave and gaining the courage to take Dallas to the zoo tomorrow (since we can't play in the pool). It is suppose to be around 60 degrees...so it should be a nice trip. Alright...I got to get to bed...the typing is making Doug stir in bed!

Until next time...

Oh yes, the hearing test...he passed...but that doesn't mean he listens!

Home for a Day

Doug, Dallas, the Boys, and I made it home yesterday afternoon. It was wonderful to sleep in our own bed again. Dallas was thrilled to be back with his toys, and the Boys were very excited to sleep in their chairs again! We are home all day today, and then we are leaving for St. Louis tomorrow afternoon. Doug has to go for work, and Dallas and I are going to visit friends. I will try to get some pictures up before we head out...notice...key word: try.

Until next time...

Frequent Driver

We are back in Indiana. Yes, we made it back to Iowa on Monday, but one of my uncles (my dad's older brother) passed away on Tuesday so Katie, Dallas, and I came back on Wednesday. Doug was able to change his flight, and he flew into Indy this morning. He will be able to ride back with us on Sunday. The viewing is tomorrow evening and the funeral is on Saturday. Please keep our family in your prayers as we go through the next few days, weeks, and months.

Until next time...

Back Home Again...

...in Iowa!

Dallas, the boys, and I made it back to Iowa today. Doug was to return tomorrow morning, but he called this morning and said that he has been delayed. There was a problem with some of the nursery in Chile, and he won't be home until Thursday morning. So...a few more days of single-parenting for me.

I have lots of pictures from our Indiana trip, but you will have to wait another day to see those. I'm going to bed.

Until next time...
