A...B...C...
Easy as 1...2...3...
Doug mentioned to me last night that I had not posted anything new in a week! I said that there wasn't that much that had gone on in the last week, but I grabbed the camera off the shelf and downloaded almost 40 pictures - so apparently, we had done something. Mainly, the kiddos have been playing and learning with these magnet letters. Dallas is really catching on and loves matching the same letters; Reba, she loves to sort the colors and could care less about the actual letter.
Until next time...

Preschool - Week 7
Today was the start of week 7 for Dallas at preschool. Dallas has spent a week talking about shapes, a week talking about colors, a week on the letter A, a week on the letter Y, and this week it is the letter P. I'm also so happy to report that there were NO tears today!
Hallelujah!
Then, Dallas started talking tonight about these other things he did at school today:
He colored with Elliot, Audrey and Dillion;
He played tractors with Spencer and Katelyn; and
He took a train ride with Ryan
I really think he is liking it!
Until next time...

Officer Dallas
While at Gram and Pa Bergman's last week, the kiddos were outside playing when their neighbor, Scott, stopped by to deliver some mail that was accidentally placed in his box instead of Gram and Pa's. Well, Scott is a police officer and Dallas was smitten by his car.
Scott was kind enough to let Dallas sit in the car.
He's been talking about it all week! He's also been talking about how Scott tore down his barn, and how Scott stopped by Gram and Pa's house, and whatever else he remembers about Scott...

Orange Pie
I'm not sure where Dallas came up with this idea, but he had been asking (for a few weeks) for an orange pie! I had never heard of such a thing, but no fear - Momma knows how to google :o)
Everyone loved it; although, I'll admit it's probably not the best fall dessert - I'm thinking more of a 90+ degree day in July. Here's the recipe that I used if you would like to give it a try.

Oh Reba...
I think Reba's favorite thing to do is to get in my closet and try on my shoes.
I think she might have found a new favorite pair (my newest pair at that)
Then, there was Tuesday morning when I was packing. I was trying on different outfits, and Reba thought she needed to try on outfits, too.
Can you believe in 2 months we will be celebrating her 2nd Birthday?!?! I wonder what she will wear...

Fun Friday Fotos
As I was taking Dallas to preschool yesterday, I passed this house that had a John Deere Gator sitting in the yard with a FREE sign leaning against! I couldn't believe my eyes! I quickly turned the truck around to check it out.
The battery was in it, it was charged, it worked, and the charger was sitting on the floor! I started to think 'how am I going to get this in the back of the truck' when I noticed the garage door was open. I went up to the house, rang the door bell, and asked, "Are you seriously just giving that Gator away?" She said, "Yes, we got it used a few years ago, and my kids are too big for it now. Do you need help loading it?" I said, "Sure!" As we walked back out to my truck, she did mention that reverse doesn't work, but both of the forward speeds work.
I'm sure it won't be too long and these two will be having races around the yard!

Just have to share...
I was originally going to put this in the the Fun Friday Fotos, but I thought it deserved its own post.
On Tuesday evening, Doug, the kiddos and I headed to Shelbyville. On Wednesday, we celebrated the life of Doug's Great Aunt Emma.
Aunt Emma passed away on Saturday morning at the young age of 102. She was such an amazing woman, and she had sooo many wonderful adventures in her life. Just check out this picture:
That's Aunt Emma at Mount Rushmore! Yes, Mount Rushmore is in the process of being constructed!
How cool is that?
Until next time...
Rest in Peace, Aunt Emma. You will be missed.

You can see that President Washington's head is completed, and they are working on President Jefferson's head. After a little research on the Internet, I am guessing the picture was taken late 1934 or early 1935 (explains the quality of the photo).
Another thing, look closely at the above picture and then look at the picture below of how Mount Rushmore looks now:
Did you notice that in Aunt Emma's picture President Jefferson's head is being sculpted to the left of President Washington's?!?! According to Wikipedia, "Before the head was complete, Borglum [the sculpture] ordered that it be blasted off due to poor rock quality. Jefferson's head was started again to the right of Washington."How cool is that?
Until next time...

Nothing Creative
Just More Photos of the Kiddos
I have been wanting to make popsicles for most of the summer with the kiddos. I finally found some molds about a week ago in the Walgreens clearance section. I know, I could have just used paper cups and popsicle sticks, but I always forgot to grab them at the store. Anywho...here are the kiddos enjoying our fruity yogurt pops!
We finally found Mr. Potato Head's glasses the other day; although, he has still yet to wear them...
Have I ever mentioned how great it is to have the basement for the kiddos play area? They love having the tents and tunnels set up!
I just don't know what to say...

Flashback Friday
It's been a while since I have done Monday Memories, but it struck me today that a year ago today we made a HUGE announcement to our blogging friends.
Do you remember?
It's hard to believe a year has passed since we told everyone that we were selling our house and were moving back to Indiana. It has been an amazing year filled with many challenges and even more blessings. We are so thankful we made this decision, and we are truly grateful to be "back home again, in Indiana."

Photo Round-Up
Another lovely sunset from the back patio
Over Labor Day weekend, Pa and Gram came for a visit. I think this was before church Sunday morning
We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, Reba was trying to cool off the roll
Then, she had to finish off my ranch dressing
Gram, Dallas and Pa (Dallas was wearing a whistle around hisneck chin)
Enjoying a ride around the yard
Tuesday morning, Reba woke up around 3:30 and would not go back to bed/sleep. She finally fell asleep on the couch about 7 a.m. - we had to leave at 7:30 to take Dallas to preschool!

Fun Friday Fotos
At the beginning of the week, Reba tried to wear big girl undies. She LOVES to sit on the potty, she just won't go to the bathroom in the potty!
She is actually back in diapers - we'll keep trying in the mean time.
Dallas has found out that Reba LOVES it when he pushes the car for her to go fast. A majority of our week has been spent doing such activities.
Reba will even take her turn pushing Dallas!
Until next time...enjoy the holiday weekend

Guess who had a great day at preschool?
Yep, that would be my big guy, Dallas. He did cry for just a little bit when I dropped him off, but those tears stopped pretty quickly when he saw some other kids working with Play-doh! Then, he got to be the Leader today! And to top it off, he started talking about "Spencer" on our way home. I asked if Spencer was his friend, and he said yes. It's the first classmate he has mentioned! I think he is starting to open up more and enjoy it.
In other news, Reba was a little indecisive this morning.
If anyone is capable of pulling something like this off...it would be this cutie!
