How to keep peace at the "apartment"

Yep, don't stay there.  That's the correct answer.  We have spent time at the play area at the mall, the carousel in the mall, and the play area at the local Pizza Hut!  It helps get some energy out, and it keeps peace with the neighbors.

Walking!

She can actually take about 4-5 steps, but she doesn't want to while I have the camera on her!

Miss Reba's 1st Birthday

We were so lucky to be able to go to Evansville and spend Reba's birthday with Daddy.  Our morning was spent hanging at the "apartment" (aka: Daddy's hotel room).  We met Daddy for a picnic lunch, and then the kiddos and I drove all around town looking at houses.  After Daddy got "home" from work, Reba got to open a gift!

A new pair of shoes!
We all headed out to eat for supper.  We tried a new restaurant, Beef O'Brady's.  It was delicious!

Reba loved the mozzarella sticks

The birthday girl got a phone call - wishing and singing her a happy birthday - while we were there
Then, it was back to the "apartment" to open another gift - a piggy elephant bank!
She kept giving it hugs...she's too sweet.
Finally, it was time for cake and ice cream!  I didn't get all crazy with the decorations for this cake, but we still have a couple more celebrations left to come up with something cool.
Trying to figure out how to eat the chocolate and still suck on that thumb!
Ahh...forget the thumb, she loved the chocolate!

Wasserbahn

About a year ago, Doug and I purchased a discount package from a local hotel and waterpark - Wasserbahn.  It is located about 8 miles east of us along I-80.  The package included an overnight stay and 4 tickets to the waterpark.  We have been meaning to use it for some time, but just never had the right excuse to go.  Well, I remembered last weekend that we still had not used it, and it was due to expire 12-31-10!  Yikes!  Better use before we move!  So, I loaded up the kiddos and met Doug at the hotel Thursday evening.  We were able to go to the waterpark Thursday evening, and go again Friday morning before checking out.  The kiddos had a blast!  Check out some of the pictures...

There was also an arcade room - which really sucked to be honest.  We were able to play skee-ball once and then it just took our coins and didn't release the balls.  There was a speedboat video game that let us play one and a half times before freezing up - as well as the 4-wheeler video game.  Oh, and the big tennis shoe/hoop game...yeah, it ate the coins too.

Someone's in the Kitchen With Momma...

Dallas helped me make some zucchini bread. He really did well dumping and mixing. This might be the start of many adventures in the kitchen.

Monkey See...Monkey Do...

Yes, she made it all the way up, and she went down the correct way. She's definitely growing up on me.

clarification: she went up the steps and down the slide

Burying St. Joseph - Round Two

So, yesterday, I was picking up the leaves in my yard (with the riding mower and bagger, of course) when I noticed something strange where I had buried St. Joseph a few weeks ago.  I got off the mower to investigate.
Yes, someone something had dug him up!  St. Joseph was gone.  Needless to say, I was very upset.  I looked around the sign just in case he stayed close, but I didn't find him.  Later, I went on the other side of the driveway to pick up more leaves, and as I was going around a rock...guess what who I found!  That's right - St. Joseph!
Today, I dug a deeper hole, and put him back in.  Let's hope he stays.

Sweetest Words

I can't believe I have forgotten to document this major milestone for Dallas!  In the last two weeks, Dallas has started to repeat a lot of words.  It is so wonderful (and relieving) that he is finally coming around to talking and putting multiple (2-3) words together.

About a week ago, Dallas said "wuv you" as I was tucking him into bed.  It melted my heart and brought tears to my eyes.  I have waited 2 years, 7 months, and 2 weeks to hear those precious words.  I kept saying "I love you" over and over, and he kept saying "wuv you" over and over.
