Changes

I just wanted to let you know that I have added the word verification feature to my blog comments.  I know how much I dislike these things because sometimes it is difficult to "read" the letters or numbers that are given to you.  I apologize for having to do this, but lately, my comment section is getting bombarded with spam comments that I do not appreciate being on here.  I hope you all understand my reasoning for doing this, and I hope it doesn't deter you from commenting.

Thank you!

Until next time...

WWE???

The kiddos have gotten on a "wrestling" kick in the last week.  Here is a little snippet of what it looks like...
I tell you what...that little Reba is gonna keep us on our toes.

*Disclaimer:  the hitting Reba displays in the above video is not promoted in our home, and we discussed how that is not a part of wrestling*

Windows: Complete!

Last week, the window installers came back to finish wrapping the trim on the outside of the windows.  You might remember in this post, I mentioned how the colors did not match when they were here earlier.

This was the view from my front window for most of the afternoon...

Here is how the house looks now that it is complete!

Dallas and Eleanor

We have been working with the lambs every night since they arrived.  Yesterday, Dallas lead his lamb, Eleanor, around the yard by himself!

Reba's lamb, Rebecca, isn't being quite as cooperative...

Thursday Tails

First off...I have to mention that this is post
Thank you to everyone that continues to follow our stories.  Ok...onto today's story...

You might remember Dallas posing with his new lamb in the pictures from his birthday party.  Here are a few more pictures from when Pa-paw brought the sheep!
Helping unload the equipment
Here's Dallas with his ewe lamb.  We asked him what letter he wanted the sheep's name to begin with when he couldn't think of a name.  He chose the letter "E", so Doug and I started listing names.  Dallas chose Eleanor.
Of course, Pa-paw didn't bring just one lamb.  He brought two!  Here's Little Miss with her ewe lamb.  Again, Reba couldn't come up with a name, so we asked what letter she wanted the name to start with.  Reba chose the letter "R".  After listing a few names, Rebecca was chosen for this little lamb.
Here's to our new adventure!

Dallas' 5th Birthday Party

On Sunday, we had our families down to help celebrate Dallas' 5th Birthday!  If you know Dallas, you know he loves the Cincinnati Reds, and that he has been saying since last summer that his party was going to be a Reds party.

When it was time to decorate the cake, I asked what he wanted on it.  He told me that he wanted Jay Bruce, Bronson, and Mr. Redlegs.  This is what we came up with...
Thankfully, I was able to find decorations online...

Dallas absolutely loved the plates I found!
After lunch (lamb burgers and macaroni and cheese), it was time for presents...
All week Dallas kept talking about how he was going to get a Gleaner combine for his birthday.  Remember his drawing from here?  Needless to say, he was pretty excited when the first present he opened was his combine
He also got the "new John Deere Authentic" he has been wanting
Dallas was excited about his new cowboy hat, but didn't want to take the time to model!
Another big hit was the indoor bowling set
The birthday boy with his cake!
Dallas also got a new (to-him) bike
and a ewe lamb
Thanks again to all our family for the wonderful gifts and for making the trip down to celebrate!

Until next time...

Dallas' Favorite Things

Dallas' 5th birthday is quickly approaching (only 2 more days), so I decided it was time to do an interview of his favorite things.  You might remember me doing the same thing with him last year.  You can find his answers here.

This year, I thought it would be great to video tape the interview!  I am sure one day, I will forget what his little voice sounded like, so it will be fun to have it on tape...instead of just his answers wrote down.  Enjoy!

Upgrade Project

This week, we had a major project going on at our house.  We got new windows!

We had talked about it before, but had not actively looked into it.  Then, one day, a salesman stopped by and asked if he could meet with us to discuss new windows.  I took the bait.  That lead to getting a few different estimates, and going forward with the project.  We also had more insulation blown into our attic.

New homes are required to have at least 15 inches of insulation.  We had about 3 inches in our attic!  Let's hope these new upgrades make a difference in our electric and gas bills.

Now, onto some out with the old and in with the new pictures...

D's room to the NW
Living room (facing the road)
Master bedroom (facing the backyard)

Reba's room (facing the road)
We only had 9 windows to replace, and the workers were able to switch them all out in about half a day.

Unfortunately, the trim metal was the wrong color when they started to finish the outside, so they have to come back and finish that on another day.

Until next time...
