Hello All!
Yes, I am still without a computer, but I'm using Doug's once again. Dallas and I are visiting him at work after having gone to the doctor. Dallas woke up this morning with a very, very runny nose. No fever and the snot was clear, so those were good signs. The doctor said there wasn't much we could do (as far as medicine)...so we are going to have to wait it out.
Other than that...things are great. We went to Peoria, IL, yesterday to meet Grandpa and Grandma Robertson, Aunt Lisa, GG, and Great-Grandpa Robertson for lunch. We all had a wonderful time and great food! Grandpa and Grandma Bergman are coming for a visit this weekend, so let's hope the snot is cleared up before then!
To all you fellow bloggers, I promise to catch up with you when I get my computer back. Sorry, I haven't been able to comment lately.
Until next time...

We are still here!
Did you miss us?
My computer has been away for a week now, and it will probably been another week before I get it back. Doug has been nice enough to bring his computer home this afternoon to let me check email and post a quick note.
The CD drive quit working on me, and the Geek Squad at Best Buy couldn't fix it in store. Luckily, the darn thing is still under warranty so it won't cost me to have it fixed. I'm just out of luck for a couple weeks. Oh, well...at least it has been wonderful weather, and Dallas and I are enjoying it.
I'll update more later...got other things to check on while I have Internet access!

Dallas's New Trick
I hope this works. Dallas was trying to blow "raspberries" the other day. Too cute!

Doctor's Visit
Dallas and I went for his 6 month well-baby check-up today. Everything is going great! The "little" man weighed in at 20 lbs and 3 oz, and he was 28 1/2 inches long (again, putting him over the 95th percentile). The nurse thinks he was mis-measured at his 4 month check-up because of the difference on his growth chart. Oh well, he seems to be growing just fine!
Dr. Boelter was very impressed with all the cool things Dallas can do: grab at objects and switch hands, roll over in all directions, babble, follow sounds, eat his toes, sit up, scoot/army crawl, etc. She was also very impressed with his eating (how many different types of food he likes) and with me still nursing him ~ especially with those teeth he has!
Dr. Boelter also talked about his skull x-rays and said that everything was normal. In addition, she said that his head circumference is growing at a steady rate which indicates that the spaces between the skull plates have not started to close. She believes that his head will continue to shaping just fine. So...all in all...great news.
I'll leave you with a few pictures...enjoy!

Dallas & Daddy's Night
Thursday evening started the religious education year for me. I am teaching the confirmation class once again. With me gone, Dallas got to spend the evening with Daddy! I do believe they enjoyed their evening together. Here are the pictures Daddy took...
In other news, Dallas has been doing very, very well with solid foods. This past week, I introduced him to broccoli, and the little guy loves it!
Saturday night, Doug and I made some more salsa. We used a recipe I found online. Everything (except the cilantro) came from our garden. We haven't tried it yet...but it's on the menu for this afternoon ~ after I get the yard mowed.

Our Chicago Trip
On Wednesday, September 3rd, we went to Chicago with Doug's department at work. Jim, Doug's boss, has done a "rewards" trip at the end of each summer for the past three years to celebrate the end of pollination. This year, the destination was the Windy City. We left Williamsburg at 7 a.m. and did not return home until 2:30 Thursday morning! I, of course, left home without my camera! Luckily, I did have my cell phone ... thankfully, I now have a camera phone. It took me a while to figure out how to get the pictures from my phone to the computer...so that's the reason for the delay in the post. Alright, without further ado...
We made a stop in Waterman, IL to tour the Monsanto facility there and to pick up a few other past co-workers. When we got to Chicago, we ate lunch at the famous Ed Debevic's. For those of you who don't know about Ed's...it is this restaurant where the servers are very sarcastic, rude, or lovey. Ours was sarcastic. It was a very different experience, but fun none-the-less.
This was our group waiting on the bus to pick us up after lunch.
After lunch, we took a trip down to Navy Pier. We decided to stay on the bus and the driver took us to Millennium Park. They have this huge silver beam that is curved to reflect the Chicago Skyline...very cool!
After visiting Millennium Park, the bus driver picked us up and took us back to Navy Pier to meet the rest of the group. We then headed for Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs take on the Houston Astros. We got there early, so we walked around the outside of the stadium for a while.
Check out the ivy...
I know, a little hard to see, I couldn't find a zoom on my camera phone.
We didn't have tickets for inside of Wrigley, instead, we had roof top seats across from the stadium. This was our view...
All-in-all it was a great time. In case you were wondering, Dallas stayed home and the dogs took care of him.
Just kidding...Aunt Katie came and stayed the day with the little guy. I think they each had a good time entertaining one another.

6 Months Old
Dallas is 6 months old today! Doug and I did our own photo shoot for his 6 month pictures...enjoy!
Dad can I eat what you are eating?
We go to the doctor on Monday for the 6 month check-up. So you'll have to wait a few days to find out what the little man weighs in at. Doug stepped on the scale last night with him, and we roughly figured him to be at 21 pounds! Also, on Monday we will learn more from his skull x-rays. I did talk to the doctor yesterday, and she said that everything looks normal. For those of you that were wondering...with Dallas's torticollis, he has a flat spot on the side of his head from always laying on that side. But, everyone believes that it will shapen back out on its own.
Until next time...
Oh...yea! Happy Birthday Grandma Teresa!

New Look 2
I appreciate all the comments. I am glad you like the new look. I tried to do something about the dots on the background, but I did not have much luck. Do not worry...the blog will not be like this forever. Like Chris mentioned, it is very fally (if that is a word)...so come winter/Christmas time...you can expect to see something different! I bet you cannot wait...
Tomorrow (Wednesday) Dallas and I are meeting Doug and his co-workers at the Country Club for lunch. Amy, the administrative assistant, is leaving at the end of the week, so they are having a going-away lunch. After lunch, I'm taking Dallas to the radiologist to have x-ray films of his skull done. I expressed concerns about his head shape to Leslie, the therapist, last week, and she then talked with Dr. Boelter about it. They then suggested the x-rays to make sure the skull plates have not overlapped too much for the head to shape back on its own. Neither Leslie nor Dr. Boelter thought there should be any problems...it is just more for my own ease of mind. I will let you know the results when I heard them...could be a few days.

New Look
Today was a very fall-like day here in Iowa, and it got me in the mood for change.
So...I changed the look of our blog site.
I've been looking for a new template for some time now, but I finally found a site that I actually liked the choices (thanks to Stacia's blog!). Let me know what you think about the new look. Is it easy to read? Are the font colors OK? How about the size of the text? Are the dots on the background too much?
Until next time...

Where did the week go?
Wow! It's Saturday already...Here's what we have been up to...
As I mentioned in the last post, Doug, Dallas, Aunt Katie and I all went to Indiana for the long weekend. We left our house around 5 o'clock that afternoon, and arrived around 1:30 Saturday morning. We all slept in on Saturday, and then Doug, Dallas and I met up with Grandpa and Grandma Bergman and Aunt Josie to go to Indy to watch the Indians in action.
Dallas enjoying the game...
After the game, while waiting for the SkyConcert to begin, Grandma Bergman was tossing Dallas in the air...what a great face!
We ended up not staying for the SkyConcert and fireworks. It was going to be another hour (after the game finished) before they were to start. Doug, Dallas, and I were still pretty tired from the trip, so we left.
Sunday we went to church with Grandpa and Grandma Bergman, and then went back to their house for breakfast. Grandma even got to feed Dallas his breakfast...bananas!
Sunday afternoon was the cook-out my parents hosted for friends and family. I took my camera outside with every intention of getting lots of pictures. Well, it was a good thought, but it wasn't carried through. I set my camera down, started chatting, and completely forgot to take lots pictures! Here's the three that I did capture.
Grandma Robertson got to feed Dallas lunch...applesauce and cereal.
Dallas loves to help clean up...
Here's the only picture from the actual cook-out. I can't remember if I took it, or if someone grabbed my camera.
I do believe Dallas is getting ready to get his top teeth. All day at the party, he wanted to chew/suck on the cold water bottles. In addition, he has started to drool a lot (again). And...the other night, he woke up 3 different times through the night. Something he has not done since he was 2 months old!
Grandpa Robertson and Dallas...the day after the party.
As you could probably tell from earlier pictures, Dallas is doing great with the solid foods. He really enjoys bananas and applesauce. He is getting the hang of the carrots.
It is amazing how fast this kid changes. Remember his sitting up picture a few posts ago?

Well, here is sitting now...
Sept. 5, 2008
Yesterday, Friday, Dallas had another therapy appointment with Leslie. She was very excited about the progress he has made. She was especially excited to see the little guy sitting up. We go back in another month. Until then, it is more stretching, sitting up, and turning to the left for us. After the appointment, Dallas and I did some grocery shopping. We then spent the afternoon at the Miner's. I had collected a lot of tomatoes from the garden, so Laura and I made and canned salsa! It was a lot of fun, and her boys loved playing with Dallas all afternoon.
